September 1st 1788

My dearest Pris, 

It has been such a long time since I last wrote to you, my dear, and I miss you so. I am back now in England and so much has happened since I left. I imagine you have as many stories to tell as I. Paris was so very exciting and a rather enlightening experience from which I feel I have found a new lease of life. The people and parties distracted me from my troubles and I made many new friends that have lightened my mood. Before, after the trial, I had found myself feeling so very sombre much of the time, as you well know, and though the bad press still affects me so I feel I have found a way to become content. I have met a new man to take care of me in France, a famous musician called Chevalier de Saint-Georges, whose company I find most pleasant. He is very talented, intelligent and witty and I believe you two would get along splendidly. 

I see even in letters I talk too much about myself. I must ask you how you are. I do hope you are doing better and that rotten man Edmund has not diminished your smile. I hear of him now and again have to dismiss myself from the conversation before I become too enraged that I make a scene. You must know you are so much better off without him. 

Are you busy these days? I imagine you are but do hope you can find the time to write to me often, now that we are in the same country. It always brightens my day to receive a letter from you and I hope you too feel the same way about my letters. I hope to receive word from you soon,

i’m moving into uni tommorrow so i’ll probably be on mobile and not very active for at least a week. i’ll also likely be low activity for a while because of essays and revising and such but i will be back at least some of the time
