“for now, i think that is the best answer, theseus. it isn’t right to tell people lies to make it easier and anyone should understand this kind of thing isn’t something that is very usual.” he stated to his brother. newt was a bit concerned about the whole situation, but so far none of the people here seem to be dangerous, at least not yet. newt looked down at his hands at what his brother said. “while i wish i didn’t have the same feeling, i do. i don’t know anyone else that would mess with a time turner to do something like this.” he replied. newt was always the little brother of the great theseus scamander, war hero, rising ministry star; so for the attention to be on him for once wasn’t something the wizard was use to. “yeah. i don’t quite know how to feel about it. but, i don’t think i should really be surprised by it with dumbledore’s high standing at hogwarts. it’s still just shocking that my book did what i wanted it to do, help teach people about the creatures, not kill them.”

  He wasn’t wrong and Theseus completely agreed with it but at the same time, he wished he could give a better answer. A sigh left his lips, “We haven’t been able to find him.” With that statement, there was anger in his tone because Theseus wanted to find Gellart more than anything. “There’s no doubt about that although I have to wonder if this is intentional or an accident. It has to be an accident, right? There’s no way he could be thinking of bringing someone here to help him.. right?” He was mostly thinking out loud but sometimes one just needs to hear their thoughts out loud to see how either ridiculous they sound or right. Theseus turned his attention back to his brother and reached out his hand to put on his shoulder, squeezing gently. “I think you should be proud of yourself.”

ariana was surprised to learn about what gellert has done since she passed away. she use to listen to his and her brother’s plans. so she knew someday this would happen. and she was happy to hear that her brother wasn’t on his side since she knew her brother was destined for great things, but good great things. “i’m the wrong person to ask. i just got my first wand like yesterday. i barely even know a basic spell.” she admitted.

Theseus was surprised at that comment. She looked old enough to be a Hogwarts student. What did she mean by she just received her first wand? He was hesitant to ask but maybe allowing her to talk about herself would give some sort of relief or comfort or at least a momentarily distraction. He decided to go ahead and ask, “Your first wand, huh? So that means you weren’t attending Hogwarts before. How do you like it?”

ginny crossed her arms at theseus as she heard his response to her question. “i don’t want the robotic answer that i’ve heard from every single ministry official pretty much ever.” ginny told him. “you may have a war going on here, but in my time there is also a war going on, one where the people i love may be getting hurt or killed because people who could help stop it are stuck here not there.” she added.

   “If I could snap my fingers and have you all return to your present time, I would. Unfortunately it isn’t that easy.” He understood her anger and her frustration. He knew he would get a lot of that coming here but he couldn’t just allow these people to sit here without at least any affirmation that the problem was being looked at. “I’m also not going to lie to you and say that we are getting close to figuring out exactly why you were brought here because to me, that’s more of an insult than anything. The only comfort I can offer is that there is a theory that when you return, it’ll be as if you never left but time travel is a very finicky thing which is why it is strongly recommended against.”

                  ‘  you  ask  for  our  patience  but  not  our  help.. ’  pandora  interrupted  ,  stepping  forward  away  from  the  crowd.  even  so  long  ago  the  ministry  were  FOOLISHLY  adamant  on  doing  things  their  way––  &  alone.  that  way  of  thinking  having  done  nothing  to  save  her  friends  from  the  dark  lord  voldemort  &  it  doing  nothing  now  to  get  them  home.  ‘  there  are  dozens..  of  brilliant  wizards  &  witches..  here  from  the  past  &  future  that  could  be   b e n e f i c i a l   to  the  ministry  &  to  getting  everyone  where  they  belong.  must  we  really  be  left  here  unaware  &  waiting  for  answers? ’

   He remained quiet to allow her to voice her concerns but couldn’t help the slight chuckle that escaped his lips with that accusation. He stared at her until she was done and then excused himself from who he was speaking to to stand up and make his way to the woman. “That’s where you’re wrong.” He replied, “Perhaps the other aurors are just here to guard and make sure that everyone does as the ministry has ordered but I am here to speak to people and get their opinion and listen to any ideas that anyone may have. Unfortunately, I am not above the ministry and my hands are tied in some aspects but I am not against asking for help.” Theseus extended his hand to introduce himself, “Theseus Scamander.”

          FLEETING, yet, momentous. Leta’s steps faltering as the contact of his skin met hers. Her back towards his still, was this real? Or another illusion of her own making. Returning from the dead was, in it’s own right, an incredulous thing. How could this possibly be real? Trying to keep her balance as she allowed his contact to further, grasping his hand instead, She had forgotten how her name on his tongue could send shivers down her spine, even now. “ Theseus? “ his own name cascading from trembling lips. “ Are you actually here? “  

   As she spoke up his name, Theseus didn’t say anything but just looked at her. He took in every little detail that he could, too afraid that this was a dream that he was going to wake up from soon because he had many of those but this didn’t feel like a dream. There was that evident love in his eyes as she embraced his hand and suddenly all the weight that was on his shoulders lifted if only for a moment. “Yes.” He finally replied, stepping closer to her, his voice a little shaky. “And you are too.”

        Mia smiled brightly, “oh please, don’t apologize. I’m sure that ministry has you running ragged.” She’s not really sure if this would ever happen if MACUSA was in charge but she didn’t say her thoughts out loud. She knew she could be a little bias when it came from her homeland. “But I’ll never say no to a cup of coffee or a sweet treat as compensation.”

   That was an understatement. Theseus felt like he hadn’t slept in weeks though it’s only been a couple of days. He could use time to decompress, that’s for sure. “We can go to this small little coffee shop if you’d like then. My treat.”

“yeah, everything is fine. just tried to think of a way to help you get away from that situation. i felt like no matter what you told them, they wouldn’t believe it.” he admitted. “i mean, this whole situation is very strange.. i don’t know how it even happened.” newt had never seen magic like this ever and he didn’t really believe the ministry had either. “you have no idea how many people asked me to sign their fantastic beasts books…”

“They’re scared and confused. I understand that and I wish I could give them a better answer than we are working to figure this out however, that’s all we have for now.” He confessed to his brother, “Although, I have a feeling that this has something to do with Gindelwald.” He explained but he had nothing to back it up or prove it yet. He felt like he hadn’t really slept in so long because he was so focused on what was going on around them. Theseus stopped talking though and a small smile appeared on his face. He had always in a small way supported Newt with his love for magical creatures but he never really understood or taken him seriously until recently. There was a hint of pride behind his smile, “Really? Sounds like you’ve been a bit busy yourself then.”

         “Oh, no, not officially or anything. We’ve been to a few ministry events together,” she explained with a wave of her hand. “I believe you went to school with my husband, Fleamont Potter… Monty.”

   “Oh, that’s right!” Theseus did recall seeing her with Fleamont quite a few times. They hadn’t really had the chance to properly speak however until now. “I apologize. It’s been rather hectic as I’m sure you already know.”

     He was getting ready to leave with the other few aurors that had decided to stop by when something peculiar caught his eye. Theseus had momentarily glanced but then froze. He could recognize her anywhere, he could find her in a group of a hundred people without hesitation. His heart suddenly sank and his jaw dropped slightly in disbelief yet his body pushed him to step forward. “Leta?..” It was her. She had found her way back. “Leta!” He picked up his pace to make sure to not lose her as he reached for her wrist without thinking and now here he was. Face to face with the love of his life who he had thought he’d lost forever. / @dcviousdvination​

        Mia glanced over her shoulder and then stepped out of his way as he reached for the vile that she had been trying to reach. She let out a slow breath and felt her annoyance dissipate and it was replaced by gratitude. “Thank you,” she murmured and looked up at the gentleman. “Theseus Scamander, right?”

    Theseus hadn’t seen a friendly face in what felt like a while and though he did not blame the people for being upset, he wished that they would understand that there is only so much that he could do. He recognized her from somewhere but couldn’t place exactly where. “Yes, m’am. We’ve met before, correct?”

there’s limited resources for callum turner and while i could’ve picked a different fc, i just really love him as theseus so there is a chance that i may not reply with a gif to the thread so apologies in advance for that!

newt stood against one of the buildings watching as people were asking his brother for help. this is a situation that made the wizard pleased that he wasn’t a ministry official. he decided to try to help him a bit. “if the ministry has any information on how to get home, then theseus will tell you. but.. well.. this situation is nothing like anyone has seen before… and if you excuse us, i need to speak with my brother.” newt said with an awkward smile at the person.

    Theseus stopped and then turned around to look at his brother, recognizing his voice anywhere. He wasn’t sure why he felt so much comfort in that moment when Newt stepped in. Most days, he did enjoy what he did but others, when things happened out of nowhere and everyone was looking for an answer on the spot, it could get a bit draining. He looked at the person once more and nodded, “Please excuse me.” He got up and walked over with Newt, “Everything alright?”

“that’s easy for you, you can actually leave this town. i’m stuck here for who knows how long.” it’s not like ariana had many places to go. but she did want to visit her mom’s grave in godric’s hollow. it was a place she visited so much when she was still alive, she still felt bad about what she did to her, even though it was out of ariana’s control. “i mean, are you guys even trying to figure out who is here? like what if there are people who are dangerous here and start hurting people. or maybe a younger version of gellert would appear here and none of you guys would know it’s him and he can just get away with things right under your noses.” ariana wasn’t the biggest fan of gellert since he did duel her brothers, but he was also albus closest friend at one time and she knew him a bit back then.

   Could he blame her for being impatient and irritated? No. He knew he would be just as much if he had been in her shoes. It probably felt like they were being held captive but they didn’t know what else to do at this point. This was unlike anything he had ever seen before and he thought he couldn’t be shocked anymore. Theseus nodded, “That’s why I’m here. There’s a couple of others around the town as well. Plus, I’m not against asking for help if anyone has any ideas or knowledge. We aren’t really in a position to turn anyone down if they do.”

emmeline was glad that she could wander into hogsmeade, the castle was seeming bursting with people. yes, she didn’t mind people but there was only so much she could take. lips pressed before she heard a familiar voice. turning to face the person, her uncle theseus but clearly a lot younger than she knew him. “if you come across a family member you say hi or avoid them? i’d like to know for reference.”

   That was an issue. One that could not be prevented. One that could possibly cause more harm than good but there wasn’t any way for them to forbid anyone from speaking to someone they knew. It was just in human nature to find comfort in familiarity. Theseus thought the question over for a moment before he looked back at the young girl, “That’s completely up to you and while we are unaware of how doing so could impact the future, there’s really no way for us to stop everyone from doing that.”
