How to catch a lie with linguistics
Aka how to catch a liar with his own words aka:
My decompress after being triggered by a man who has attempted to turn his suicide into a martyrdom, posthumous.
This one is more just tripping on inconsistent details but a good intro to the fact that you don’t necessarily need to see micro expressions to catch a lie. In fact, most people are well enough versed at lying that you have to catch them in linguistics rather than physical giveaways. Especially when your own emotions are involved. For me, my innate penchant to believe literally everything people tell me blinds me. But my mind later processes the words... and that’s my superpower.
Here we go:
Adult was on a dating site and told in a message he’s talking to a 14 year old. His response? Asking about what school he goes to, his sexual history and “can you take it?”
We’re done right there, but watch how he tries to spin it later.
After more chat and prior to the meet up, he asks for a recording from the kid and when he gets it, he replies that it’s “not” what he “expected”. Then, once he’s busted from the initial meetup, he gets out on bond and commits suicide. But now, his final note is triggering a legal battle. He attempts, in the note, to say the recording was obviously an adult role playing as a child and he was under the assumption that he’d be meeting an adult and continuing the role play.
Oh how neat and orderly this version of the story seems. It’s almost compelling. Except this: he replied to that recording with it being ‘not what he expected’. So... he expected a 14 year old. He was not expecting a role playing adult. That means everything from before that recording was you... SOLICITING A FKING MINOR!!
And let’s not dance over the part after the recording: you were going to perform sex acts with someone while you both pretend they are... A FKING MINOR!!
Deep sigh ...

Thought how odd it is, I’m so attracted to his manly man hands. And after I had my morning Joe, I realized it’s not so odd after all...

Ohhhh... that’s why...

Been asked by basically everyone that makes it to the fifth response or nearabouts: “how are you still single?”
First off, because I want to be. I could stay single until I’m 45 and the DMs would still be raining twenty-something-year-olds ((thank you Priyanka Chopra marrying a Jonas brother)).
Second, because I say shtt like this image below without any second thought ((no I did not actually send this a-hole a like)). My comment is under his wanting someone with mean cooking skills...
Lol, meanwhile.... in a galaxy not very far away... from a fine piece of youngin... ((lollll I’m dummm I know))

It wasn’t long before we REALLY got nasty and started sending each other pics of our... favorite coffee blends. ❤️👑🤤🤓👌🏾😝😂🙌🏽

Bobbie Draper, under the employ of Chrisjen Avasarala. I love how the show changed up her story line. Much better!

Holden on Prax. I like book Prax better than show Prax. Wondering what made the screenplay writers change this...
Nice note here and a few lines later, a shadow and shy dance with emotions that tell us James doesn’t realize he wants kids.

This is why I realized I could go into acting. People push their bull shit on you and you start to see it so much, it’s all you can do to just get by... just play into the moment they’re creating.
