Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
ACCA or UK CA is the most sought-after qualification among commerce students.

Exam pattern

Attempts
There are no time limits for passing any Foundations in Accountancy exams, nor any of the Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills exams as part of the ACCA Qualification.
But once you clear your first professional (P) level paper, you are expected to clear the remaining papers in the next 7 years.
What is PER in ACCA?
Once students clear all 13 papers they become ACCA Affiliate. Now to earn the membership they must gain PER (Practical Experience Requirement)
PER has 3 key elements to it,
36 Months of Experience
This experience must be in the field of Accounts or Finance
This need not be a continuous 36 months of experience. Students can work with different companies which will add up to 36 months of work exposure
Students can even start to work when they are actually studying for ACCA.
Work experience in the accounts department of a relatives company or even own business is considered valid for PER. But also make sure to disclose this piece of information to ACCA
Even teaching accounts and finance is considered as work experience. There is a condition that only 12 months of tutors’ experience is countable.
Your senior should be a member of IFAC. (CA, ACCA, CMA, ICWA, CPA, CFA)
9 Performance Objectives
ACCA has given a list of 22 performance objectives to ensure that the ACCA affiliate has all the required technical as well as soft skills as a qualified accountant.
Out of these 22 affiliates must fulfill 9 objectives.
In 9 Objectives first 5 objectives given in the list are compulsory while the 4 objectives can be as per your work experience.
Once you claim to achieve these objectives your senior under whom you have worked will receive a mail of approval. And that’s how ACCA Affiliate will fill up 9 objectives in MY ACCA account.
Ethics Module(EPSM)
It is an online learning module that tests your decision-making skills and behavior in real-world business scenarios. It is 10 units of content that students must read and answer.
There is peer assessment or review in the 8th unit wherein students will prepare a presentation which will be assessed by other ACCA students
Pass mark is 50%.

There are innumerable opportunities in profiles like Consulting, Taxation, Fund Management, Accounting Advisory, Statutory Audit, Mergers & Acquisitions, etc

Can an ACCA audit? and do they have signing authority?
Yes ACCA can perform audits.
An ACCA has signing authority in most countries other than India, which includes the UK, Canada, EU, Australia, and many more. An ACCA professional can practice in countries where there are no restrictions for them to work.
ACCA can set up a practice in India but they need to partner with CA for signature which is possible.(Important part in consultation or practice is acquiring loyal clients and providing the best possible service)

is ACCA qualified foe chartered accountant?
Yes. Once you’ve cleared all 13 papers of ACCA qualification, you become a Certified Chartered Accountant.
Where can I give ACCA exam?
The first four papers are on demand and they can be given at any time at an ACCA-approved on-demand CBE (computer-based exam) Centre.
The remaining papers are given quarterly in March, June, September, and December at the various centers selected by ACCA. These centers can be anywhere in selected cities.

Can I do ACCA without maths?
Yes, you can do it, Maths is not compulsory for pursuing ACCA as long as you had accountancy in your 12th.
