Okay but what's going on with Winona?
Watch: Trust us that it’s not clickbait when we say this speech about punching Nazis was so fired up that it changed our lives
The theme of the 2017 SAG Awards was unity, unity, and more unity. For one of the final speeches of the night, David Harbour of Stranger Things collected the award for best performance by an ensemble, slinging (or rather, shouting) unity at the audience. The crowd got on its feet. In the audience, Courtney B. Vance, Lea DeLaria, and Viggo Mortensen can be spotted standing at attention.

Andrew and I talked about this. I'm keeping my name, and he said he's totally fine with that as long as our kids have his last name (which I'm totally fine with as well). I like my last name, it's short and simple and sounds good with my first name. Out of our remarried friends, about half the women kept their names which seems about right.
I think about this a fair amount as more of my friends get married and do or do not change their last names. I’m actually more surprised lately when women DO take their husband’s last name. The idea that it means you’re less committed to your partner is ridiculous though. Also it seems like the study only interviewed undergrads, which seems limiting.
I don’t know if I’ll change my last name if/when I get married. I’ve always been a bit indifferent to mine, which is very generic, and I do like James’s last name and the idea of sharing a name and feeling that kind of connection (all that paperwork aside, as this story points out). My mom is VERY against a woman changing her name (she also hates the concept of being a “Mrs.” even though my parents will have been married for 38 years in April). It’s never bothered me that she and I have different last names, although a couple times when I was growing up people assumed my parents were divorced, which seemed like a bridge too far.
Anyway, do what you want. Change your name or don’t. Make a up a new one if that’s your thing. But the concept that it somehow devalues your marriage seems silly.

Apparently I have a lovely name and should "definitely keep it". Thanks Cary Elwes, I'll keep that in mind. (at Egyptian Theatre)

Ah, the holidays – a time for giving, receiving, and most likely overspending. In a recent survey, 56% of Americans admitted that they’re planning to rack up debt this season, 16% of which expect it to take six months or more to pay off. So just how much does the average American spend on holiday gifts? According to the American Research Group, U.S. shoppers anticipate spending an average of $929 this season. Talk to parents, however, and you might see that number climb even higher. Newly released T. Rowe Price data confirms that parents are spending an average of $422 per child on holiday gifts, with 34% of parents spending $500 or more per child.
Whoa! I’ve been obsessing over spending 100 bucks on the kids gifts.
Jesus T. Christ, people.

$500 per child?!? I don’t think I’ve ever spent more than $100 - kids toys are cheap. We always tell Landon he can only ask Santa for two gifts each year. This year it was the Paw Patroller and a Zuma boat, so like $60 total I think?

Scary and believable. We do 4 gifts: something you want (fisher price basketball hoop - $35), something you need (new cardboard stacking boxes since Molly ate the previous set - $10), something to wear (monkey slippers - $12), and something to read (Christmas memories book - $15).
Total of $72, and my son will probably just want to play with 4 mini marshmallows and a measuring cup for hours.

I’m a hermit, so my holiday spending is about $100. Can’t imagine doing nearly $1k.

Yeah I spent around $1k this Christmas. And that was with boyfriend and I saying we'd go light on gifts for each other since we leave for London the day after Christmas.
