Theories of Relativity
Charles Leclerc x Reader
Summary: you don’t need TikTok theories to prove that your relationship is a dream come to life, but it doesn’t hurt when your boyfriend passes all of them with flying colors
The Olive Theory
When you love someone, you have to be willing to make sacrifices and compromises for them (even if those sacrifices are something small like pretending to hate olives just so you can give them to your olive-loving partner instead)
You sit across from Charles at the long dinner table, smiling as he animatedly recounts the race from last weekend. His hands wave through the air, punctuating his story as he describes the final lap battle with Max down to the last corner. You’re only half listening though, too distracted by how handsome he looks in his dinner jacket, his tanned skin glowing in the low light of the restaurant.
As Charles pauses to take a sip of wine, you lean in and whisper, “I wasn’t really watching the race, I only had eyes for you.”
Charles chuckles, his nose crinkling adorably. “Oh really? So you missed all the action then?"
You shrug, trailing a finger down his arm. “What can I say, I find you far more interesting than the other cars going around in circles.”
Charles opens his mouth to respond but is interrupted by a mechanic sitting a little way down from you. “Oi Charles, why do you keep picking all the olives out of your salad?"
You look down, noticing the small pile of olives Charles has stacked onto the edge of his plate.
Charles glances at you, a faint blush rising on his cheeks. “Oh, um, I’m not a huge fan of olives.”
The mechanic frowns in confusion. “But I’ve seen you eat olives before. You always get them on your pizza.”
“I, uh ...” Charles stammers, clearly flustered.
Under the table, you squeeze his hand reassuringly. Charles looks at you and you give him a small nod.
“Well, the truth is,” Charles says, turning back to the mechanic. “I actually love olives. But Y/N loves them even more than I do. So I pick them out of my food to give to her.”
You smile softly at Charles, warmed by his thoughtfulness. The mechanic chuckles and shakes his head. “You two are so cute it’s almost gross.”
Charles just grins and pops an olive into your mouth. “Anything for mon amour.”
You crunch the olive happily, then lean in to give Charles a quick kiss on the lips. “People who say chivalry is dead have simply never met you.”
The conversation moves on, flowing from racing to travel and everything in between. Under the table, your fingers stay intertwined with Charles’ the whole time.
After dinner, you all head outside into the cool night air. Charles’ team members head off towards their own cars, calling out goodbyes.
You snuggle into Charles’ side as you walk towards where his Ferrari is parked. “Thank you for the olives,” you say. “But you really don’t have to deprive yourself on my account.”
Charles wraps his arm around you, pulling you close. “I want to though. I like making you happy.”
You stop next to the car, turning to face him. Running a hand down his chest you say, “You know what would really make me happy right now?"
“Hmm?" Charles murmurs, his eyes drifting down to your lips.
You grin mischievously. “A stop for gelato on the way home.”
Charles laughs and opens the car door for you. “Anything for you, mon cœur.”
The Bird Test
If you say something that could be deemed insignificant and your partner responds with genuine curiosity, that’s a really good sign that your relationship will last a long time
The Brazilian sun beats down as you wander hand-in-hand with Charles along the edges of the Interlagos circuit. It’s the day before qualifying, and Charles brought you out to the track in São Paulo to share the grid walk with you.
You stroll slowly, enjoying a rare private moment together during the hectic race weekend. Charles points out details along the track — the tricky off-camber Turn 3, the sharp left-right complex at Turns 5 and 6, the long full throttle blast down the back straight.
You love seeing him so in his element here, his passion for racing evident in his voice and gestures.
As you round Turn 12, heading down the home straight, a flash of bright blue in the trees catches your eye. Gasping in excitement, you grab Charles’ arm and point.
“Look, a hyacinth macaw!”
Charles follows your gaze to the large, vividly colored parrot perched in the branches. “Wow, that’s amazing! I’ve never seen one outside of a zoo.”
You bounce on your toes, thrilled at the sighting. “Aren’t they gorgeous? That bright blue is unreal. Macaws are pretty rare around here, I can’t believe we spotted one!”
Charles smiles at your obvious delight, then turns back to observe the macaw with curiosity. “What do they eat?" He asks. “Fruit, like other parrots?"
“Yes exactly!” You reply eagerly. “Mostly palm nuts and acai berries. And they need a huge range of territory, something like 80 square kilometers.”
As you chat more facts about the brilliant bird, Charles listens attentively, asking more questions and commenting on its beauty. His genuine interest and engagement makes your heart flutter happily.
Eventually the macaw takes flight, its bright wings flashing blue against the trees as it disappears into the forest.
“Incredible,” Charles murmurs, watching it go. “What an amazing thing to see.”
He turns back to you, eyes shining. “Thank you for pointing it out, I never would have spotted it myself. I love seeing you so excited teaching me about something you’re passionate about.”
You step closer, looping your arms around his neck. “And I love that you always listen and want to know more, even if it’s not about racing.”
Charles wraps his arms around your waist, smiling tenderly. “Of course, your passions are my passions now too. I want to know everything that sparks that beautiful light in your eyes.”
The Orange Peel Theory
A partner’s willingness to perform small acts of service is indicative of a healthy relationship
Early morning sun filters into the kitchen as you sip your coffee, still wearing the oversized Ferrari shirt you slept in. Charles stands at the counter across from you, freshly showered and humming to himself as he browses his phone.
Setting your mug down, you grab an orange from the fruit bowl and start to peel it. Or at least you try. The tough rind puts up a stubborn fight, your nails scraping uselessly against it.
“Ugh, I hate peeling oranges,” you grumble after a minute. “Whose idea was it to make the peel so impossible?"
Charles glances up with a sympathetic smile. “Here, let me.”
He takes the orange from your hands and deftly digs his thumb into the top, effortlessly tearing the peel away in one long curl.
You watch in admiration as he strips the rest of the orange until it’s completely naked and ready to eat.
“Voila,” Charles presents it with a flourish. “One perfectly peeled orange for mon ange.”
“My hero,” you grin. You go to take it from him but Charles playfully keeps it out of reach.
“Ah ah, allow me,” he says. Holding your gaze, he gently pulls apart one glistening segment and brings it to your lips.
Happiness bubbles up in you at this sweet, unexpected gesture. You let Charles pop the orange slice into your mouth, savoring the bright citrus burst.
“Delicious,” you murmur. Charles smiles and leans in to kiss you softly, his thumb brushing a drop of juice from your lower lip.
One by one he continues to peel the segments and feed them to you, interspersing each with tender kisses that taste of orange and love.
You close your eyes blissfully, letting the sensual ritual relax you. Charles takes his time, not rushing. He knows this is your favorite part of the morning, stealing these private moments together before the busy day sweeps you both up.
When the last segment is gone, Charles kisses you again, deeper this time. You loop your arms around his neck, melting against him.
“Have I mentioned how much I love you?” you whisper when you finally separate.
Charles nuzzles your nose with his. “You may have said it once or twice. But I never get tired of hearing it.”
You lean into him contentedly. As always, his thoughtfulness and care warms you from the inside out.
Peeling an orange is such a small act but the meaning behind it speaks volumes. Charles knows your quirks and preferences, and cherishes these little opportunities to make your day brighter.
The little things that mean everything.
You’re still musing dreamily about this when Charles tips your chin up. “Where’d you go just now?” He asks with a curious smile.
You shake your head, focusing back on him. “Just thinking about us. And how perfectly you peel my oranges.”
Charles laughs. “Well I’m glad to be of service. I know how you hate getting orange string stuck under your nails.”
He kisses your fingertips one by one. “Can’t have anything marring these beautiful hands.”
You scrunch your nose at him. “Oh yes, I need to keep my hands soft and dainty in case a prince comes along to propose.”
Charles squawks in protest and tackles you against the counter, fingers digging into your sides to tickle you mercilessly. You dissolve into helpless giggles, swatting him away.
“No no, stop! I take it back!” You gasp.
Charles relents, holding you close and nuzzling into your hair. “Too late, you’re stuck with me now,” he murmurs, kissing your temple.
You snuggle into him contentedly. No fantasy prince could ever compete with the reality of Charles.
The Invisible String Theory
An invisible string connects those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance (the string may stretch or tangle but it will never break)
The living room is filled with laughter and happy chatter as you and Charles sit surrounded by both your families. Your wedding is only two days away, and his mother suggested gathering everyone together one night for reminiscing and quality time.
Looking through old photo albums is proving to be hilarious and heartwarming. Baby pictures, school plays, family vacations — memories preserved to embroider the story of your lives before fate brought you together.
Charles smiles wistfully as Lorenzo shows an album from their childhood. “I wish my godfather and father could have met you,” he says softly. “They would have loved you so much.”
You take his hand, leaning your head on his shoulder. His lost loved ones are always close to his heart.
Your mother passes an album to you with a smile. “Oh this one is from our trip to France when you were five! So many cute little Y/N photos.”
You roll your eyes but obligingly open the album, Charles peering over your shoulder. You flip through pictures of your younger self building sandcastles on the beach, wearing a hilariously large sun hat, beaming gappily with missing front teeth.
Charles grins down at you. “Adorable. I can’t wait for our kids to-”
He stops abruptly, staring down at the page. You follow his gaze to a photo of your family in Nice, taken in front of the Le Negresco hotel. And there in the background, almost out of frame — four familiar figures walking down the promenade.
A young Charles holds the hand of a teenage boy you immediately recognize as Jules. On Charles’ other side, his father Hervé carries a toddler Arthur.
Your breath catches sharply. The families fall silent around you. Charles’ fingers tremble slightly as they trace over the image.
“Of course we went to Nice often,” he whispers. “I had no idea ...” His voice trails off, thick with emotion.
Arthur cranes his head to see. “Is that us? With Papa and Jules?" He looks between you and Charles with wide eyes.
“Almost twenty years ago,” Lorenzo marvels. “And your paths were already crossing.”
Pascale wipes at her eyes, grasping Charles’ other hand tightly. “It was meant to be. Some invisible string tying you together even then.”
Charles’ fingers tremble as they trace over the image. For one brief, impossible moment, it feels like you’re all together — you, Charles, Jules, Hervé. Preserved in time, intersecting at the crossroads of past and future.
Though you never met in life, somehow you were all bound in that instant, tied by invisible strings of destiny. Strings that would one day guide you and Charles to each other.
It’s only a photo, yet looking at it you feel Jules and Hervé’s presence like a bittersweet embrace. As if across the years, they’re saying we know you. We love you. We’re so happy for you both.
You stare down at it, this captured moment of impossible synchronicity. A glimpse of the thread that wove itself silently through your lives until the day it finally drew you together.
Charles meets your eyes, his own shimmering with tears. Without words, you know he feels it too. The impossible link stretching back through time. Proof you were always meant to find each other.
He pulls you close, kissing the top of your head. “I believe that with all my heart, we’ve always been connected somehow.”
“Soulmates,” you whisper.
You cling to him, overwhelmed with certainty. Through accidents of time and geography, missteps and milestones, your story was always guiding you here.
Meant for each other. Destined, even then.

tying you to me ꨄ max verstappen
max verstappen x reader
warnings: sweet max, random coincidences to lovers trope, happy ending [wc: 4.3k]
[4 times] in which something coincidentally led back to max, and the [1 time] it turned out nothing was just a coincidence (in which everything has always tied max to you).
Time, curious time Gave me no compasses, gave me no signs Were there clues I didn't see?
It felt like a never-ending nightmare.
One thing after another, one bad day after another, one bad week after the next. It felt like it was never going to end.
The person that was supposed to be that person, the man that was supposed to be forever, the person that was going to be standing at the end of the aisle... leaving with a simple apology and a ‘I’m sorry, it’s me, not you’... it was incomprehensible.
It had been weeks, and you still couldn’t wrap your head around what had gone wrong. Was he telling the truth? Was it really him? Or was it you? Had you done something wrong? Had it been you that caused the blunder? The inevitable demise?
Everyone had been adamant that it wasn’t you, it was so evident it wasn’t meant to be. Nothing connected to him, there were no signs pointing to him being the one, there was no inevitable connection. But even with those words of affirmation, it didn’t change the internal feelings, the internal heartbreak that felt like it was never going to end.
All you ever wanted was that connection, that string, that feeling, that pulled you to another person, that proved they were the person meant to be for you. It was devastating to think back and know that it was so obvious, he just wasn’t that person.
The coffee shop you currently sat in had become a morning staple after the last few weeks. After coming back to Monaco for a much-needed reprieve from the rest of the world, the little coffee shop nestled into the charming walls of Monte-Carlo had become a necessary distraction to the outside.
The employees all knew you by name now, often passing by the table and inquiring about your day, inquiring about the book you were reading, or the work assignment shown on your computer screen. Always engaging in polite conversation back, it was one of your favourite places to be.
People-watching was the only negative of it. The loving couples who passed through, all cuddled up together as they ordered their drinks for their walk throughout the city, the older couples who sat just tables away and reminisced on their lives together. It was the only thing that drove you crazy about the charming little shop.
Watching them occupied your thoughts more time’s than you cared to admit. Daydreaming and losing focus on the outside world was a commonality, especially in the little coffee shop.
It was exactly where you found yourself currently, your eye’s peering to the left as you watched an older man place his hand over who you assumed to be his wife’s hand. Their wedding bands shining brightly in the Monaco sun, soft smiles on their faces as they peered at one another, your heart begging to be let out of this turmoil, begging you to turn away and focus on something else, anything else.
Its wish was granted when you felt the cold of a drink begin to sink into your shirt, instantly soaking your skin, a gasp of shock falling from your lips.
“Oh god, I am so sorry. I just turned around and you were right there, let me grab some cloths, please.”
You knew instantly it was your own fault, you hadn’t been paying attention, more focused on the elderly couple, prompting the person in front of you to spill their... was that Red Bull? On your shirt?
“Is this Red Bull?”
The man in front of you grimaced as he handed you the dry cloths, a small smile falling across his lips while his eyes crinkled with the movement of his face. A bit of a cute look, you thought to yourself while beginning to dab at your shirt as the smell of the energy drink wafted up your nose.
“Yes, I’m so sorry. I don’t drink coffee often, but my sister wanted to stop here because she had heard good things, I was just waiting for her drink while she took a quick call outside. I really only drink Red Bull in public when I have to, or when I’m getting paid to. I thought it was her behind me when I whipped around like that, I’m so sorry. Please, can I buy you a coffee as an apology? Or a tea?”
You weren’t entirely sure if the rambling was out of nerves that you were going to overreact over the spilt drink, or if he just simply felt like he owed it to you to explain the entire incident and how it came about in full description.
The frustration that was brewing was not at all a fault of the cute man in front of you, but an accumulation of days of sadness, an irregular appetite, and just a combination of heartbreak.
Trying to keep the tears of frustration at bay, you instantly shook your head towards the cute man in front of you. “Thank you, but no. Obviously this is a sign I need to go home, sorry for spilling your drink.”
Before he could get the chance to say anything back, you were forcing yourself to rush out of the coffee shop before an outburst could erupt from inside of you. You hadn’t even noticed the look of intrigue that the Dutchman gave you.
Bad was the blood of the song in the cab On your first trip to LA You ate at my favorite spot for dinner
The memory of the handsome Dutchman in the small coffee shop left your mind not long before the happy memories of your ex-boyfriend finally forced themselves out of your head. Things had finally begun looking up, the more time you spent with your friends, the more time you spent focusing on work and the hopeful promotion that would come with it.
Although, your boss had insisted you take a few weeks off, citing the fact you were there more than anyone she knew, and that burnout was inevitable if you didn’t take the much deserved and obligated time off. The amount of overtime and banked hours allowing you to take the time off with full pay just made it easier to agree.
Which was exactly how you found yourself just south of Zurich, the snow whipping past your face as the ski lift ascended higher and higher up the mountain. Your friends giggled beside you, smiles lighting up everyone’s faces.
Winter break, although cold and snowy, was always a fan favourite amongst your friend group. It was exhilarating, you hadn’t had the chance to attend the annual ski trip while you were with your ex-boyfriend, he hated skiing and anything including winter sports.
It’s what made the trip even better, getting the chance to catch up with your friends and their partners, the chance to laugh, and drink, and just smile again. It was all worth it.
The group of guys in the ski lift behind obviously had the same idea, hooting and hollering at each other as the ski lift continued its ascent. You couldn’t decipher what they were saying, the words in a different language, but the name ‘Max’ seemed to be a commonality. Maybe someone was missing their dog while on vacation? Who knows.
After hours of skiing, the alcohol in the ski lodge was flowing. The laughter and happiness from every group was prevalent, everyone there was so obviously happy to get away from the real world. It’s what places like that were for.
“That guy over there can’t stop looking at you,” jostled out of your thoughts by one of your friends, you followed her head inclination to one of the tables a few rows down, a familiar face looking back at you inquisitorially.
It took you a second to place his face, the day in the coffee shop floating back to your mind prompting a small laugh to fall from your lips.
“That’s the guy who spilt the Red Bull all over me when I ran into him in the coffee shop in Monaco, remember?”
It had been a running joke, a typical meet-cute in a coffee shop, but instead of spilt coffee... a spilt Red Bull.
“That’s the guy who spilt the Red Bull on you?”
One of your friend’s boyfriends gaped at you, as he continuously maneuvered his look between you and the man in question. Nodding your head, he continued to gape at you.
“Don’t you know who that is?” Giving him a look, you shook your head.
“That’s the Max Verstappen. Three-time Formula 1 World Champion? Dutch God? Second-coming of the Formula 1 Jesus?”
You recognized the name, having heard it at the few races you had attended, but you never would’ve been able to place the name to the face otherwise.
A laugh erupted from one of the other members of the group, a shove directed at the other man. “I think you've got Verstappen mixed up with Lewis Hamilton.”
“He’s kinda cute, huh?” One of the girls pointed out to you, a small giggle falling from her lips as she looked over towards the man in question, his eyes meeting yours as you looked in his direction again.
His hair was flopped over, obviously a combination of a long day wearing a ski helmet and a hat, mixed with the combination of the sweat and heat that engulfed the inside of the lodge made him look even more attractive. Windswept, tipsy, and overall, just happy.
“So much better than that last loser.” A mutual agreement of ‘yes’, ‘obviously’, and ‘fucking no wonder’, floated throughout your group at your friend’s words.
Shrugging them off, you just laughed and pushed the conversation in another direction and away from the man sitting across the room, who seemed as if he couldn’t take his eyes off you at all.
As the night started to dwindle down, you bid goodnight to the remaining group of friends and started your route back to your room.
“At least I have nothing to spill on you tonight.”
Directing your gaze to the voice at hand, your eyes made direct contact with the blue irises of Max Verstappen.
Quirking an eyebrow at him as a small laugh left your lips, “I’m sure the bars fully stocked with drinks you could spill on me. You’re just not trying hard enough.”
A loud guffaw fell from the man’s mouth, his hands instinctively covering his mouth as he laughed. You couldn’t help the heat that grew on your cheeks at his reaction, his smile directed towards you when he finally moved his hands from his face.
“I’m so very sorry. Next time I run into you, I’ll try to make sure I have a full drink in hand to spill on you.”
“Oh, you plan on running into me again?”
Shrugging his shoulders with a small grin, the Dutchman just laughed. “Well, I ran into the person I spilt a Red Bull in a coffee shop on in one of my favourite places in Switzerland, I’m sure I’m bound to run into you again. Things happen in three’s, don’t they?”
Max ran a hand through his hair as he smiled at you, before either of you could get the chance to say anything else, one of his friends was clapping a hand against his shoulder with a boisterous laugh.
“Time to get out of here, mate. Say goodnight to the pretty girl,” he said.
You felt your cheeks heating again, as Max smiled at you in farewell, a small wave from both of you any indication of goodbye as you both walked away.
Time, mystical time Cuttin' me open, then healin' me fine Were there clues I didn't see?
F1 race weekends were as fun as they were busy. Any race you had attended since you were an intern was always focused primarily on working. Getting the opportunity to attend a race with your friends, in Melbourne, without having to worry about work or advertising, or anything else, was obviously the best way to spend it.
Lou, one of your friends linked her arm with yours as she basically skipped through the hospitality area, pointing out the different garages as she got a glimpse of them. Her boyfriend, Nick, had gotten both of you passes through his own work, a long-term employee of McLaren meant that the both of you had been spoiled for the weekend.
"Maybe you’ll end up running into Max again, imagine? A third little meet-cute,” she said, with a giggle.
Rolling your eyes at her, you just laughed as she grinned back. “Don’t roll your eyes at me! It’s totally possible, I’m sure Nick could totally convince Lando to convince Max to pass by the garage or the hospitality. We could totally orchestrate it.”
“Babe, it’s pure coincidence I’ve run into the guy more than once. I’m not like... going out of my way to run into Max Verstappen.”
Huffing back at you, Lou sent a mock pout in your direction as she continued to drag you through the hospitality center. Passing a stand full of travel cups of coffee, you were eager to grab one as you walked by.
Before you could even press the lid of the cup to your lips, you were interrupted by the sound of a familiar voice, yet again.
“Is it your turn to spill something on me, then? I’m having a pretty bad day, and I don’t know if I can handle that.”
Both you and Lou whipped around to the sound of the man’s voice, the man who just a short time ago had been forced to retire his race due to a faulty and on fire brake. You could practically feel Lou humming with excitement as she looked between you and Max.
Shoving her hand out in his direction, Lou introduced herself to Max who did the same back.
“With that, I’m going to see how everything’s going in the garage. Call me if you get lost, yeah?” Without giving you the chance to argue, she bolted away.
Silently groaning, you looked back towards Max. For someone who just retired from a race he was probably going to win, he seemed relatively calm and relaxed.
“So, are you?”
“Am I what?” You questioned back, confused.
“Are you going to spill your coffee on me, in retaliation for the Red Bull?” Instantly shaking your head, obviously the retirement from the race couldn’t have affected him too negatively, if he was already cracking jokes in your direction.
“You don’t even know my name, and you’re accusing me of wanting to go out of my way to kick a man when he’s already down?”
Watching his face fall, you could tell he was about to defend his words. A smile began to cross your face, his eyes jokingly narrowing in your direction.
Sticking your hand out towards him, you finally introduced yourself, your name falling from his lips as if it was a beautiful word from a testament as he took your hand. It would be embarrassing to say a small spark shot up your arm, but the racing driver had inevitably shocked you, an apology dropping from his lips almost immediately.
“Terrible race to stalk me at, though. You couldn’t have at least made it a race that I actually stood a chance at winning? Pretty embarrassing to have to retire for such a stupid reason, in front of such a pretty girl.”
If there was one thing other than racing that Max was good at, it was making your cheeks warm and the butterflies in your stomach spike.
“Well... I am here as a guest of McLaren... maybe I was just really hoping for a Piastri win. Gotta root for the hometown boy, right?”
Shaking his head, Max mockingly pressed his hand to his chest and looked at you like he was internally wounded.
“You’d support McLaren over me? The man who runs into you in the weirdest of places? Who gave you a free Red Bull without a can?” he said.
You could barely help the small snort that fell from your lips at his words, your hand instantly slapping against your lips in horror. Max openly laughed at your reaction, arm gently hitting your shoulder with a grin.
“Just for that, I’ll support Ferrari before I support you and your Red Bull’s. I don’t think Charles Leclerc would spill a Red Bull on me.”
In response, Max grinned and pointed in the direction of the Ferrari garage, the red and yellow prominent amongst the stone. “Shall I go introduce you to Charles, then? He’d probably spill an actual hot coffee on you, at least I didn’t leave any lasting damage.”
“The trauma of smelling like an original Red Bull for more than 2 hours isn’t enough damage?” you questioned, your eyebrows quirking up at him.
Max looked at you in horror, “You can’t possibly be saying you don’t think the smell of an original, cold, fresh out of a fridge, Red Bull isn’t just simply lovely. This is potentially the biggest red flag about you.”
You were quick on your feet, the words dropping from your lips before you could contain them.
“I guess we’re all on fire today, then. Red flags left and right.” you said with a smirk.
All Max did was laugh at your words, his head rolling back while his hands placed themselves on his hips.
Just as he had been the last two times, Max was interrupted before he could continue the conversation, a lady in a Red Bull sweater tapping him on the shoulder to let him know he needed to make his way back to the garage for some interviews that had been requested of him.
“Nice seeing you again, I’m sure next time I see you, you’ll probably heal more of my Red Bull soaked shirt trauma.”
The only response he gave was a loud laugh and a wave, as he walked away.
Time, wondrous time Gave me the blues and then purple pink skies
The FIA year-end Gala was exquisite. Everyone was dressed to the nines, the lights were twinking, the service was lovely, and the atmopshere was electric.
Even though, for almost all of the people there, it was a requirement of their jobs, everyone seemed as if they were having a wonderful time. Mingling with those around them, actively engaging in conversation with co-workers, friends, long-time acquaintances.
Your boss had elected that you and a fellow co-worker attend in her place, admitting that although she loved the excitement of the night, she needed a break from the glitz and the glam of Formula 1 for a tiny bit. She knew you were more than willing to take her place and do an incredible job.
Which is exactly how you found yourself at a table with Jack, one of your co-workers, a wide grin on his face as he observed everything going on around him. He was new to the company, just having recently completed his internship and been offered a full-time position with the organization. It was his first time at a Formula 1 event of any kind.
“Isn’t this brilliant? I’m a huge motorsports fan, I wanted to get into karting when I was a kid but it was just too expensive, my parents couldn’t afford that. I’ve never even had the opportunity to go to a race, and now I’m in the same building, the same room as literal race drivers. Have you been to a race before?”
You forgot how much he could yap, an almost over-eager human equivalent of an excited golden retriever. He looked at you expectantly, waiting for your answer to his question.
“I’ve been to a few races for work, and a few privately with some friends. They’re always a great time, you’ll have lots of fun when you start going for work.” you said.
Grinning at your words, you began to tune him out as he launched into another rant. You were pulled out of your thoughts at the sound of someone saying your name, your head swiveling in the direction of the voice.
You were almost positive Jack was squealing out loud, as Max Verstappen once again entered your view. Smiling up at him, you stood up to greet the Dutchman, which resulted in him pressing a chaste kiss to your cheek, his hand gently patting you on the back as he did so.
“I just wanted to come by and say hello. You look very beautiful.”
Unable to contain the anxious laugh that fell from your lips, you immediately smiled at him. Accepting compliments was obviously not your forte, especially when they were coming from Max, who looked more handsome than ever in his suit, and the wide smile on his cheeks pulling everything together.
“Never thought I’d see you in anything other than jeans and a Red Bull shirt, Max. You look lovely, as well.”
“Making fun of me, and a compliment all in one? I will say, I probably would’ve worn jeans if I could, but my public relations manager likely would’ve murdered me and I quite enjoy being alive,” he said.
Shaking your head in silent laughter, you barely even noticed as Jack thrust his hand out to introduce himself to Max.
“Your girlfriend is lovely, mate. This is what, the fourth time I’ve run into you?” Max said in greeting, a somewhat tight smile on his face.
Jack instantly shook his head, “Oh god no, we’re co-workers. I don’t mean she’s not lovely, she is. I’m not her type, or actually she’s not my type. I’m yapping, this is embarrassing. Mr. Verstappen, it was really nice to meet you. I need a drink. I’m sorry.”
He practically sprinted away, both you and Max looked on with amused grins present on your faces.
“So, if he’s not your boyfriend, does that mean one of the guys you were with in Switzerland are?”
Shaking your head, “God, no. Those are friends I’ve known for years. I’m very much single, right now.”
Max looked like he was in complete contemplation as he debated what to say next. You were secretly hoping he would take the bait, maybe ask if you were free after the gala, or ask how long you were going to be in town for.
Running into him again once was by chance, twice was a coincidence, and thrice was obviously a sign. The universe was obviously trying to tell you something, there was a reason this man, who had first shown up in your life just after one of the worst heartbreaks you had ever experienced, continued to show up. It was hard to not get your hopes up, to not get ahead of yourself.
It was hard to keep the butterflies at bay, truthfully.
“Hypothetically, does that mean you’re free after the gala?”
“Hypothetically... I man be free after the gala,” you responded.
Nodding his head, Max smiled in your direction. “I think it would be a crime to let this beautiful dress, and my efforts to wear a suit for something go to waste. I’d love to take you out after.”
And isn't it just so pretty to think All along there was some Invisible string Tying you to me?
Max had been transparent from the beginning; he wasn’t overly affection nor was he a fan of excessive cuddling. He got warm often, and the moment he got too warm when he was in bed, he got miserable. But when he wanted to cuddle? You had to take what he would give you.
Which was exactly how you found yourselves right now, Max playfully attempting to whack your phone out of your hand, his other arm wrapped around your waist as he burrowed his head into your neck.
“Schatje, I just wanna cuddle for a bit. Give me a little attention.”
Slapping gently at his arm, you looked at him in mock exasperation. All you ever did was give him attention, he almost took the words out of your mouth when he muttered, “I know you give me plenty of attention, don’t yell at me.”
You just shook your head silently as you used your free hand to gently twirl small tuffs of his hair, a small hum of content falling from his lips at your movements.
“What are you looking at?”
Attempting to look over at your phone, you moved the screen so he could see it better. It was a video from your first ever Formula 1 race, back when you were still a little intern and your boss had wanted you to gain some exposure to the sport.
“I’m just looking back at some videos. Found this one from my first ever race. I didn’t even know I still had this.”
Max instantly perked up and looked at your phone, his eyes squinting as he tried to decipher something in the video.
“Do you remember which race it was? Looks like it’s a few years old, yeah?”
Nodding your head, you tried to do the math in your head, thinking back to what year you first started your internship. “I think it was 2016? It was definitely in Spain, but I’m pretty positive it was 2016.”
“Do you know what that means?” Max questioned, a soft smile on his lips as he pressed a small kiss to the junction between your chin and throat before looking back up at you.
Shaking your head in confusion, you tried to determine what he could be talking about, giving him the chance to continue.
“My first ever win in Formula 1, for Red Bull, was the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix. Isn’t that so ironic? Guess things were always meant to be.”
Maybe he was right.
Maybe there was always a string, a small, invisible string, tying everything together, tying you to him.
genuinely i got this into my mind and felt like i was legally obligated to write it asap. i hope you LOVE it and i would so appreciate it if you told me if you do. thank you, love you all 🫶🏻

Destined, even then.

mine to love
yang jeongin x reader
little drabble
master list
you watched his eyes shine as he performed, your heart and cheeks warming as you processed the enormity of everything that your boyfriend had achieved.
knowing him was special, and getting to see him glow whilst he was doing the thing that he had worked for, for the majority of his life was remarkable.
as he made his way over to your area of the crowd you briefly made eye contact with him you waved and watched as his smile-if possible-grew even more.
“i’m so proud of you,” you mouthed, not sure at all of he could read your lips or if he was trying to at all.
it did appear that he had though, when his cheeks flushed which made you laugh. so often he was trying to make you blush, and succeeding, so each time you got him embarrassed and shy felt like a win for you.
he held up a love heart in your direction which you completed happily and blew him a quick kiss before he moved across to the other side of the stage.
“did you see that? i.n just completed my heart!” you had to smile at the sheer elation of the girl a few people away from you.
no part of you wanted to correct her, i.n could belong to absolutely everyone’s heart while he was on stage and putting on his stage persona.
she could have her five minutes with him, because yang jeongin was yours to love and be loved by and you had him forever.

reading rants
hyunjin x gn!reader
just cute little fluff
master list
sometimes even the presence of someone is calming, it’s difficult for you to explain how just hyunjin’s being is enough to settle a barely noticeable anxiety you feel with him being gone.
your heart felt at ease as your head rested in his lap, one of his hands holding the book he was reading and the other mindlessly carding through your hair.
the room comfortably silent as you were both engrossed in the own tales being told in the books you were reading.
the peaceful aura being broken only as you slapped your book down and slapped hyunjin’s thigh a few times to get his attention. not that it was necessary, after hearing your loud gasp he had closed his book and focused his attention solely on you.
“is the part important?” you questioned, pointing at the book that he was reading.
“no, it’s okay.” hyunjin shook his head and closed the book to give you the attention you clearly wanted.
“this bitch is an idiot.” you complained, pouting up at the boy who chuckled at the expression on your face. “hey! this is serious.” you whine once he leans down to kiss away the pout.
“what did he do?” hyunjin asked, humouring the conversation that you had started.
“chaol just was being so annoying, i love him but sometimes i just want to have my boyfriends friend punch him in the face.” you ranted.
“why can’t you do it?”
“because changbin has big scary muscles and i have twigs for arms.”
“you’re adorable,” hyunjin chuckled, leaning down to kiss you again.

yang jeongin-new favourites
you had missed jeongin, it was impossible to not miss his warm hugs reserved just for you and his giggle that still sounded as youthful as the day you met him.
having him away on tour was something that you had gotten used to, seeing him in far off lands accomplishing his goals and living out his dreams made the yearning for him just slightly easier.
but his homecoming was something that you always looked forwards to, the first moment of seeing him in person after so long. often with things that had changed since he had gone away.
one time a tattoo hidden away from any prying eyes, and another time he had changed his hair from black to blonde mid tour dates.
the knock on the door couldn’t have come quicker, you rushed towards the entrance and pulled it open to reveal a figure clad in dark clothes and a mask to hide his features.
“what are those?” you questioned, pointing at the bouquet in his arms, the bright colours contrasting against his clothing.
“all the way from australia.” he joked and grabbed your waist to pull you in for a slightly uncomfortable side hug, however with his familiar scent wrapped around you, nothing could be any kind of uncomfortable. “i felt bad for being gone for so long.”
“you know you never have to, i get it.” you sigh and pull down his mask to place a chaste kiss to them before your hands reached out to accept the flowers, taking in his goofy smile as you both walked inside.
“they’re pretty right?” jeongin questioned, almost shyly as he wrung his hands together. “they just kind of reminded me of you, they’re called carnations.”
you paused as you examined them one more time, a smile unconsciously forming on your lips as you met his awaiting eyes.
“they’re my favourite, how did you know?” you questioned excitedly, giving your boyfriend another hug, almost laughing as you felt him deflate in relief.
“i could just tell.” he bragged and as you took in his new found confidence you didn’t even mind that you had never had a favourite flower before in your life. not when now you did.

first or last love
inspired by something i read a while back, shout-out to whoever it was <3
chan
chan would undoubtedly be your last love, you’d meet him at a time when love felt so far away and teaching him to love himself was healing for you. he is gentle and kind and willing to do everything to make you happy, learning together what you both need and slowly but surely building a steady companionship to last a lifetime.
lee know
lee know is your last, a lover unlike one you had ever had before. the intimacy hidden in shared smiles and discrete touches that no one else was witness to. his love was quiet to others but obvious to you, the reassuring hand on your back enough to allow you to feel his love without a word
changbin
changbin is your first, a fiery love so intense that your blinded by emotions for each other. a love that begins quickly and seems to explode with sap. a love that teaches you the comfort of a relationship and the softness of those that you should love. it’s a relationship you look back on with a smile, appreciating all of the things that the perceptive man was able to teach you about yourself.
hyunjin
this man loves deeply, he loves hard and he loves with the intensity that comes from your last. hyunjin was a typical case of fell first and fell harder. the boy who adores you and treats you like a queen. you are his muse and he never fails to let you know. he’s a love that worships, a love that endures and a love that burns in his bones forever.
han
jisung is your first, he’s a clumsy love of first kisses and first times. he’s the teeth clashing and awkward hand placement that teaches you what to do and what not to do. he’s the boy you believed you would be with forever, the boy that grew away from you as you both got older and discovered yourselves.
felix
felix is sunshine and cuddles, he’s happiness and love all wrapped in one. he’d be the first boy you meet just out of high school and fall in love with, the one to show you what love should be and how you should be treated. he’d be the one that got away and the one you thought about often, how could you forget the boy who taught you your worth?
seungmin
seungmin is the sureness and determination of your last, he won’t let you go once you meet him. the way he clings to you when no one is around is symbolic of the way in which he treats you together. he can’t imagine being without you and he simply doesn’t let you go. he’s the last love that challenges you and feels hard on some days, but the love that you regard with such sureness and conviction that he is the one for you.
i.n
jeongin is both your first and last, he’s the beginning of diving head first into disaster when you meet young. he’s the boy that everyone was convinced would leave at some point, to stubborn and sure of himself to be trapped. but he’s the boy who loves hard and despises change, unless it comes to you. he’s the one who grows with you, encouraging you to be different as each day he falls deeper and deeper.

dance to this | l.hc
word count: 3.8k | genre: dancer! haechan x dancer! reader, university au, slight enemies to lovers | warnings: none
Donghyuck is an ace. He knows this from the way Taeyong chooses him to be the centre of too many of their performances, and the way too many of his clips have gone viral online.
Donghyuck is annoying. He knows this from the way Doyoung groans in exasperation at every one of his stupid pranks, or when Mark finally loses his patience and shouts across the room at the top of his voice.
But above all of that, Donghyuck is very, very competitive. He doesn’t make it obvious, but the need to win is always simmering beneath the surface, especially for the things that matter. He knows this because you are always there, in his peripheral vision, reminding Donghyuck that he needs to be better than you.
You’re an ace too, even if Donghyuck doesn’t want to admit it. The entirety of the Yonsei male student population is likely in love with you and has posters hung up in their room. You’re also annoying, or at least Donghyuck thinks so. He’s sure the rest of the team would disagree, but you’ve got them wrapped around your finger.
“I’m not partnering with someone who can’t even moonwalk properly,” he bites, and you glare back at him.
“Says the one who tore his jeans at rehearsal last year trying to do a split.”
“That was just because the jeans were too tight. I assure you I am fully capable of doing a split.”
“Oh yeah? Let’s see it then. See, you’re hesitating-”
“Guys! For the love of God, can the two of you cut it out? It’s like I’m dealing with two toddlers.” Taeyong stands in front of you and Donghyuck, looking frazzled as always. Next to him is Karina, who simply rolls her eyes. Taeyong is no stranger to you and Donghyuck bickering at all hours of the day, but he’s especially tired with the upcoming recital. For that sole reason, the both of you fall silent like sullen children, looking at him.
“Sorry,” you mutter, and Taeyong smiles gently at you.
“It’s fine. We just really need this performance to go well, okay? And the both of you doing a duet will garner the most attention.”
Donghyuck sends a pointed look to Karina, who nods in assent. He sighs dramatically, enough for you to cast a sharp glance over. The dance studio is empty save for the four of them, everyone else not yet here. “Okay.”
“Me too. I’m in if Donghyuck cooperates,” you reply, and Taeyong breaks out in the most brilliant smile you’ve ever seen, lighting up his entire face.
“What do you mean if I cooperate? You’re literally the most argumentative person I’ve ever met-”
Taeyong’s smile quickly disappears.

cat-astrophe-lee know
lee know x reader
he just adores cats
Minho adored cats, if everyone knew one thing about the man it would be exactly that. Whether it was the three cats that he himself had, the accessories that he constantly wore or the cat cafes that he frequently visited.
To say that he was excited to meet your own cat was an understatement, he just adored the little creatures and considering all of the photos he’d seen, the excitement that he was showing was an adrenaline high like you’d rarely seen from him.
“She’s probably waiting by the door, so be ready.” You warned Minho who nodded excitedly, telling you to hurry up with opening the door. “Alright.”
“Baby where are you?” Minho called, his voice soft as he looked around on the ground for the familiar black and white cat.
“Pepper?” You questioned, it was unusual for her to not be trying to trip you over at every step when you had just gotten home from a long day out. “Where is she hiding?”
You couldn’t help your laugh at the disbelief on Minho’s face when you were both quiet enough to hear the relatively loud hissing. Meeting the shining eyes of Pepper who was hiding and glaring, as much as a cat could glare, at your boyfriend who looked downright appalled.
“That’s Pepper?” He questioned and when you nodded at the obvious question, he bent down and slowly made his way towards her, pulling back only slightly when she reached out to swipe at his hand.
“I don’t think she likes you very much bub.” You place a hand on his shoulder, which he quickly shakes off completely undeterred from the behaviour.
“She’ll warm up to me, it’s probably just because I’m new in here and she’s scared.” He said once again reaching out, a swipe of hand coming out again. He rolled his eyes and sat back, looking up at you with what could only be described as a pout.
“Just give her a little while, maybe she can sense a bad vibe. I might have to break up with you.” You say and he hits your leg gently enough.
“She’s not evil like that,” he denied still not giving up on the feline who hadn’t relented in her attempts at ignoring Minho, or scaring him away if he dared to get a step closer.
It took a long time for Pepper to warm up to Minho, something that the boy was truly unhappy about. Both of you were shocked some two months later Pepper lazily made her way onto his lap and nuzzled her face into his hand that gently pet her in order to not scare her.

on my side-seungmin
kim seungmin x reader
flufffff
Having had what felt like the worst week of your life, all you wanted was a distraction to push away the overwhelming feeling of anxiety that you simply could not shake.
You wanted safe arms to hold you close and the comforting sound of Seungmin’s heart beat to calm you down. It’s steady rhythm providing an anchor for you to focus all of your attention on.
You knew that he was busy though, having spent all day with the members, focused on learning dancing and perfecting recordings, he then had to go to his preplanned vocal lesson.
You couldn’t say anything, couldn’t beg him to come home and hug you like you desperately wanted him to. How could you be selfish when he was working to get better for himself and so many other people?
“What’d you have for dinner?” Seungmin questioned over speaker, your phone lay next to you as you finished applying moisturiser.
“Nothing too exciting, how’s singing going?” You ask in return, your voice sounds dull even to your ears, you just hope that he doesn’t notice it over the phone.
“I’m done, just waiting for Jeongin now.” Seungmin said. “But he might be a while so I just called to let you know that we’re going to go out to eat before we come home and that you should probably go to sleep.”
“Okay Min,” you sighed, pouting slightly. “I’ll see you then, have fun and make sure you both get home safe.”
“See you tomorrow, I love you.”
“Love you too.” You smiled before he hung up,
You trudged your way back to your room from the bathroom, and practically crumbled onto the mattress that was way too large for you to sleep on alone.
Instead of laying on the left like you usually would, you rolled over and wrapped yourself up on the right, allowing Seungmin’s familiar scent to fill you with a strange sense of comfort that you couldn’t explain.
Finally your thoughts shut down as did your eyes from the pure exhaustion that you could no longer fight off, waiting for your boyfriend to come home.
“Baby, are you awake?” Seungmin’s soft voice pulled you out of your slumber, his wide eyes blinking at you in amusement at you. “You’re on my side.”
“You weren’t here,” you deny the accusations, sitting up and wasting no time in pulling him down beside you. His hands immediately moved to your hair, already appearing slightly messy from the way you must have been rolling around in your sleep as you always did.
“I told you that,” he said quietly, frowning at you as he thought. You were usually one to support his incessant need to improve himself, you very rarely ever complained about him being out even if you missed him.
“I missed you, just really needed your company.” You admitted lowly, accepting his hands moving your face in order to make it easier for him to kiss your cheek.
“You should have said something, I didn’t really have to wait for Innie to finish.” He whispered with his breath tickling your ear as he did so.
“Didn’t want to annoy you.”
“You never annoy me,” he emphasised and you nodded silently, choosing to enjoy the brief moments in which your eyes wouldn’t be unconsciously closing, dragging you back into the depths of sleep that you were desperate for.

mornings and mumbles-bang chan
bang chan x reader
This was no question your favourite way to wake up, calloused fingertips tracing gentle circles around the skin exposed by your shirt riding up from your rolling around during the night.
Your eyes open slowly and gradually, already predicting the sight that you’ll find. Nothing will ever prepare you for seeing Chan in the morning, every morning you still feel cheeks flush at his tired smile and adoring eyes.
“Morning,” Chan murmured, his warm arms cocooning you into his chest. It was unfortunately unusual for you to wake up with each other. All too often the bed was cold, all you were left with was a written note, every morning that he left before you awoke without fail.
“I thought you said you had to go,” you spoke, voice as groggy as you felt.
“It’s good to see you too,” he jokes and kisses your head. “Hannie said he’s handling everything and I can come in a few hours.”
“Is that true? Or is it about what Changbin said when he called me yesterday? That you’ve been more cranky then usual?” You question teasingly, letting out a squeak of sorts when he pokes your sides.
“I haven’t been grumpy,” you laugh at your sulking boyfriend and run a hand through his hair that you notice is in its favourite style. The curls.
“Don’t lie to me. Even Felix sent me a text and told me to do something about it.” You watched his eyes roll and started giggling, eventually stopping when you felt his burning gaze on you. “Whatever the reason it is, I’m just happy that you’re here. I like waking up like this.”
“You’re whipped,” Chan said, laughing when you slapped his chest before burying yourself back there. “I am too.”
“Has anyone told you that you’re disgustingly cheesy?” You questioned, meeting his eyes and then his lips meeting yours.
“You maybe, I just can’t help it.” He responded quietly. “What?” he whined when you rolled over to face away from him.
“Wake me up when you’re not being disgustingly cute.” You say, when you yawn he can’t find it within himself to argue, instead spooning you and resuming the gentle circles that had been used to wake you up.
“Sleep well.” He mumbled, smiling softly at you, though knowing in the back of his mind that by the next time you woke up he’d be gone, only a note in his place.
His only comfort being knowing that at least he’d be able to make you smile with the little words that he added to his notes app throughout the day before when inspiration hit.

“Lovely wedding, isn’t it?”
You smile at the man who had just joined you at the open bar as he hops onto the stool next to yours.“Mm, indeed,” you agree before taking a sip from your glass. Apple juice, because you can’t drink on the job. “Though, it’s bad manners to look better than the groom, don’t you think, Seungcheol?”
As disgustingly corny as it is to say, he’ll always be the prettiest person you know. He’s the prettiest when he’s greeting customers with a warm grin, when he’s wearing his pink apron that has Cherry Bakery emblazoned across the front in red bubble font, even when he’s pulling an all-nighter to put the finishing touches on his special orders, icing sugar dusted across his shirt and counters as though a mini snowstorm had wreaked havoc in your kitchen.
And he’s still the prettiest right now, in his wedding guest attire of polished shoes, slacks and a crisp button-up, the sleeves neatly cuffed to expose his forearms. I clean up well, you recall him joking earlier today as you both rushed around the reception venue. It’s perhaps the biggest understatement you’ve heard this week, but you only had enough time to respond with a teasing call of just don’t get frosting on your shirt!
“Have you seen the floral centerpieces?” Seungcheol asks casually, gently plucking you out of your thoughts to bring you back to reality. “The colours and composition are stunning, whoever made them must be an artistic genius.”
You hide your smile behind the rim of your glass, cheeks warming from his praises. “I could say the same for whoever made the wedding cake. Tasted as good as it looked too. Have you tried it?”
Seungcheol angles his body to properly face you. Your eyes naturally drift to his collarbones, now further highlighted by the glow of the fairy lights hanging above you. He catches you staring, and smirks. “No, not yet,” he purrs, “maybe we could share a slice before it’s all gone—”
“Oh, good! You’re both here!” The bride glides over to you from the dance floor with her husband not far behind, and you’re reminded of a princess as the floaty tulle of her gown kisses the polished tiles.
Radiating pure happiness, she takes your hands in hers. “I just wanted to thank you again,” she tells you sincerely. Her wide eyes, accentuated by shimmery makeup, brim with unshed tears. The flowers looked so lovely today. I’m so glad my friend recommended you, I’m already planning to press some from my bouquet!”
Unable to conceal your relief at the positive reception, you give her hands a reassuring squeeze. “I’m happy that you like them. Congratulations again, and thank you for letting us join the reception!”
The bride beams, cheeks aglow with a pretty pink flush that you liken to the roses from her bouquet. “Of course, you two helped make this possible!” She moves on to Seungcheol. “And you—the cake was incredible. I know I said the same at the tasting, but it really is the best cake I’ve ever had.”
“Thank you,” he says with a gracious smile, “it’s an honour to be part of your special day.”
“I’m no baker, but the icing details must’ve taken forever,” the groom chimes in, “you did a great job.”
Briefly, Seungcheol’s eyes meet yours, and you just manage to catch the mirth swirling in them before he turns back to the couple. “Ah, well, I got lots of encouragement.”
The glance you two shared had seemingly not gone unnoticed under the bride’s observant gaze. “Babe,” she chirps with a snap of her fingers, looking over at her husband, “don’t they look like they’d be cute together? A lot of people meet their partners at weddings, y’know.”
“Actually,” out of the corner of your eye, you catch Seungcheol biting down on his lower lip to suppress a laugh, “we…uh—”
Taking your hesitance for discomfort, the groom offers a sheepish smile. “Sorry, we don’t mean to make you both uncomfortable.” He gazes affectionately at his wife as he interlaces their fingers. “We should get you some water, hm, darling? You’ve already had a few flutes of champagne.”
Seungcheol waits until the couple are out of earshot before swivelling in his stool to face you with a pout. “I’m surprised they haven’t noticed,” he mumbles, looking down at his shirt, “I thought it was pretty obvious I matched with you too.”
You grin, wholly endeared by your boyfriend’s sulky display as you pat his knee in consolation. “You know what they say, love does make you blind. But if it makes you feel any better, I think you look really good today.”
He perks up at your words, a cheeky smile now playing on his lips as he leans in close enough for you to catch a whiff of his cologne. The warm, woody scent is comfortingly familiar, reminding you of rare, lazy mornings with your head tucked under his chin, face nuzzled into his soft T-shirt. It’s a smell you now associate with him, with home.
“Well, I think you look even better,” he murmurs, leaving you hypnotised by the adoration dripping from his gaze, “what do you say we go get some of that cake now?”
Your hand slips into his, much like all the other times you’ve done before. “I say that’s a sweet idea.”
“Not as sweet as you, though.”
“Mm, let’s leave the cheesiness to the bride and groom for tonight.”

Regrets-Lee Felix
felix x reader
reader just misses felix
Your heart ached as your mind slipped back to the night that seemed to plague your mind far too often lately. The way that you immediately left the room without giving either of you a chance to say a word and resolve what could easily be fixed.
If only you could go back and swallow your own selfishness, maybe then you could rod your brain of the image of Felix’s heart broken look. His eyes filled with tears as he barely processed what you leaving that room meant.
For so long you had held on, being everything that you assumed he may have wanted. Everything except for honest. You let him do his job, trying so hard to not hold him back. But you lied, you lied so often.
Saying that it was okay that he wouldn’t meet you in your bed for the night, instead choosing to stay out until the early hours of the morning when you inevitably had to get up to leave for work.
You should have spoken about it, leaving the words unsaid and hanging up in the air was never going to do anything other then hurt you. You knew that, you did. It just ended up hurting you so much more then what you had initially expected.
You knew he wasn’t doing well, because as much as you had aimed to rid yourself of every reminder of him, it was impossible when he appeared everywhere online. When the theories on why his eyes looked so red were everywhere.
Maybe you could have done more to avoid them, but if anything was evidence that you didn’t want to let him go, not bringing yourself to delete your social media and be completely out of the loop was definitely enough proof that you hadn’t yet let go.
It was moments in the middle of the night that you hurt the most, when you’d jolt awake from sleep, all too used to having him wake you up consistently at around 3. He had refused to go to bed without you knowing that he had joined you, albeit eventually.
It was when you’d look up at the stars and be unable to stop thinking about the ones splayed across his cheeks that he always begged you to count. Both of you knowing that you’d never be able to do so and it would end in you both laying in the most comfortable of embraces.
You found yourself wondering what thoughts he had, if he missed you waking him up with a peck to the forehead only mere hours after he had fallen into the mattress beside you.
If he saw random objects al throughout the day and was plunged into an endless hole of dreaming of you and thinking about what used to ge before you walked out on him. Slamming the door both metaphorically and physically, behind you.
You wondered if he had found it within himself to be mad at you, if he scrunched you his face when he thought about that night. Whether the regret from things that he wished he could have changed, had molded into anger and frustration thinking about how you could have left him behind when you promised. You swore that you never would.
