part of me feels like this is why i prefer the older seasons though. i don’t want happy endings where they part by choice because then im mad at doctor for not visiting them.

Looking back on it Jodie Whittaker's run on Doctor Who really was the kindest in the modern era in terms of what happened to all the main characters

Literally every recurring companion survived and got a happy ending in their original timeline (and not in the Clara/Amy/Bill "well TECHNICALLY they live on and get to have their own adventures" way)

She got to say a proper goodbye to all of them (Tosin Cole wasn't available for filming during Power of the Doctor but I assume she got to say goodbye to Ryan off-screen)

And on top of all that 13 regenerated outside which means for the first and so far only time in the nuWho era the TARDIS hasn't been damaged or harmed in some way during a regeneration sequence

I fear we're never gonna get the whole gang this intact ever again in this show

as i’ve continued to watch the christmas specials, i’ve decided they’re all just dark af. christmas time in the whoniverse is a time meant for heartbreak and major plot reveals.

I love how Ten is so shocked Jack joined Torchwood like oh no, gasp you’d never believe Jack would be heading up the “Find the Doctor and Shoot Things” club

my headcannon for jack being the face is of boe is that each time jack dies and comes back, he doesn’t just regenerate back to normal. he evolves.

so my wife has never been into doctor who, but has been enjoying the new season with Ncuti. i want to show her one episode from the older seasons, but i can’t decide which. so….

If I was Yaz and I yearned and pined for like 6 years and then Thirteen gave me the whole "I can't ever settle down with anyone but if I did it would be you" speech and then ditched me, and then I found out Fourteen had immediately settled down in a suburban townhouse with a family and Fifteen was out there smooching randoms in public, I'd start blowing stuff up.

God thinking about The Runaway Bride again bc ten was really like. I’ve only had Donna for a day and a half but if anything happened to her I’d kill everyone in this room and then myself. And then like two seasons later we find out that was LITERALLY what would have happened

it’s actually so fucked up that Donna accidentally kills Stacy Campbell just by fiddling with that little necklace thing

there was a definitely a theme with ten’s christmas specials there for a bit. we’re up to The Next Doctor and once again the episode begins with a very confused ten. i swear the writers just liked David’s confused acting or something

wait how did i never notice that Runaway Bride and Voyage of the Damned start the same way:

ten in tardis being mild to major sad boi

something unexpected enters the tardis abruptly

ten is very confused resulting in that fantastic “What?!” x2

i think the writers just wanted David to do the confused thing again tbh and said “what’s more confusing than a random bride suddenly appearing? the titanic in space!”

watching the christmas specials at work this week (because why not) and MAN The Runaway Bride is dark for a christmas special!!! and it literally barely mentions christmas. i’m pretty sure donna screams “its christmas eve!” like twice, there’s a tree at her reception, and that’s it.. but seriously the plot? donna was getting poisoned and lied to by a man she loved and was ready to marry, the doctor tries to kill an alien while she screams “my children!” and of course can’t forget ten’s sad boi vibe the whole episode. i mean honestly what a wild ride.

okay look not to sound like a bitter lesbian…but why did we get that but not a thirteen and Yaz kiss???? like the logical part of me knows that thirteen just wasn’t about the affections like fifteen seems to be, but that’s still a bit of a bummer as a lesbian fan
