“There's this huge misconception that when humans are in danger, the 2 primal responses are either fight or flight, so if a woman has been assaulted people tend to ask why didn't you attempt to run away or fight back? But before fight or flight kicks in comes freeze. And a lot of times women get stuck in the freeze part of the cycle.
So I know you've struggled a lot feeling like if you *really* tried you could have stopped it but you were too complacent. But complacency is not consent. Consent is not the absence of no, consent has to be a resounding yes.
