I want to take a moment to send my love and solidarity to LGBT Muslims in light of what’s going on. I know the pressure on you is already so high. Your faith is not to blame for this, you are not to blame for this. You’re allowed to mourn, too.

Honestly I’ve felt so shitty about this shooting that I can’t focus on homework. My parents are insisting that this has nothing to do with gun control, and it’s not a homophobic attack, and that makes me feel even worse.

When are they going to realize that this is a situation that they could never imagine themselves being in? When are they going to realize that this hate does nothing but harm others?

I never, ever want to hear people complain about straight pride again. I never want to hear them say that they feel discriminated against. An American-born citizen committed an act of terror today that has rattled me pretty deeply. I can’t even begin to imagine what these families are going through. Oh, and if you’re going to tell me that homophobia doesn’t exist, fuck you personally. It exists, and it is very fucking real.
