A Statement.
Paint is a substance with endless options. It has a freedom that encourages multiple layers of experimentation, with the potential to turn the mundane into the obscure and the obscure into the sublime. Focusing on forms found in my day to day existence (usually objects others would consider rubbish), I apply layer after layer of paint, waiting for each to dry before the next application, building up its form until its original appearance disappears. Through the application of layers, I can take away an object's function, manipulate and reinvent its very existence, enhancing their formal qualities such that they resonate and amplify.
