"I feel very proud to be a black Creole vampire, in the show. I mean, I hope that all it does is opens the gates for more. Let's tell more stories. Let's be monsters! And enjoy it! Yeah, let's be problematic. Give us the space to be a problem." - Jacob Anderson

listen I know it's heartbreaking that Claudia dies and it's understandable to wish she didn't, but let's please not accuse the writers of fridging her. to do so is a fundamental misunderstanding of the story and is frankly insulting to the intelligence and skill of the writers of the show.
Claudia's death, and the overwhelming grief and regret her parents experience because of it, is quite literally the point of the entire story. she dies because Anne's daughter Michele died of leukemia when she was five years old and there was nothing she or her husband could do to prevent it.
writing IWTV was how Anne coped with the unimaginable loss of a parent losing her child. she created a story about a little girl that could not die and then killed her anyway. Claudia's death is a senseless, unavoidable tragedy, just like Michele's was. the grief that haunts Louis and Lestat for the rest of their lives is the same grief that haunted Anne and her husband.
so when you're accusing people of killing Claudia off to benefit a story about two men, please remember that in real life sometimes parents lose their children. please remember Michele Rice.

she's the reason Claudia exists.
she's also the reason Claudia cannot be saved.

In the Rockstat era there are definitely video compilations of him looking off into the distance and his pupils suddenly dilating like crazy because he has just spotted his husband in the crowd. People know when Louis is there because Lestat looks like a cat about to pounce.

the loumand bench scene is a bdsm scene at its very essence and you’ve also got to appreciate the erotic/phallic imagery of lighting cigarettes in that and the ones that precede it. louis and armand light their cigarettes independently in their 2x02 murder mansion date because they’re not really intimate yet and are still appraising each other as potential sexual partners. the cafe scene in 2x03 where they’re smoking and discussing philosophies of evil is adapted from a passage in the book which says louis felt his mind was ‘deeply excited’ and ‘feritilised’ by his conversation with armand. when dreamstat attempts to light his cigarette in 2x04, louis blows out the candle because he’s specifically shutting him off from interfering in & insinuating himself into what is a very intimate moment between him and armand. later in the same episode, armand lighting both, his and louis’s cigarettes, coincides with them finally coming together to shape the future of their relationship after dithering and hesitating so much to articulate what they’re hoping to receive from one another (re: the conversation on whether they’re involved in a companionship in 2x03). armand lighting both their cigarettes also serves as the third and final act of submission that he performs in that scene (1: holding the umbrella, 2: calling him maitre), allowing them to finally settle into the dom/sub dynamic that dictates their sexual lifestyle going forward.

by the way they were hunting gay men for pleasure and sport in paris and san francisco👆this also fits in very neatly into how they collaborate and tolerate one another’s feeding practices in dubai (damek, malik). their negotiations when it comes to feeding practices forms a very important thread in the show - it goes hand-in-hand with the negotiations pertaining to their relationship and how they’re consequently able to make their marriage last; their collaboration with respect to their feeding also makes sense because drinking blood is a very sensual act for vampires - so they’re also helping each other find pleasure in that sense even when they’re not sharing blood between themselves. there’s a reason most of louis’s victims in nola, paris, sf & dubai are usually men.

crazy face to make at one half of the couple you’re impromptu divorce lawyering for after you’ve just exposed seventy years worth of his lies including but not limited to aiding abetting and directing the death of two beautiful lesbians one of which was sort of his stepdaughter also btw this couple is comprised of nuclear warheads in the shape of beautiful men and you sort of had a thing with both of them that one time in the seventies when you thought you were going to get high and your dick sucked but instead got saw-trapped by a renegade botticelli angel with all mental illnesses in the dsm-5 and a couple others we haven’t categorized yet. daniel molloy you will live forever

Louis and Armand were way too practiced at the whole Rashid thing. No way that was their first time enacting an elaborate servant roleplay that they imposed on (comparatively) innocent bystanders. It might not even have been about Daniel other than not freaking him out with TWO vampires. Armand might've rolled out of coffin and said "lover, would it ease your nerves if I, perchance, took on the role of a household servant? Would you enjoy that? Telling me what to do in front of everyone, holding my livelihood in your hands?" And Louis (cause he doesn't think about other people's motivations if they're not attached to him) would say "why yes, it WOULD be soothing in my time of self-imposed angst to have you with me. You can make the drinks and think about how I might fire you if you don't make the martinis wet enough."
And then they tried to chew each other's fingers off. Cause they're freaks.
