Yeah. I totally get it. One time, I was really disappointed that my first favorite Barbie fanfiction was discontinued.

But when I became a fanfiction author myself, I understood the real amount of work an author has to do.

And I always hated when stories were discontinued. But now I understand the feeling of the author behind the work. For example, I've written several Miraculous fanfictions...but after the mess of season 5....I just lost the spark, the encouragement and the inspiration for those stories.

Honestly, ever since becoming a fanfic writer myself I’ve become like 500% more understanding and patient about other authors’ update schedules. An author takes 6+ months to post their next chapter? Yeah, totally get that real life can get in the way. An author abandons a fic? Disappointing, but it happens- sometimes inspiration for a story just dies. An author apologizes about taking so long to post a 10k word chapter? Dude, that’s like 18-20 pages on Word single-spaced. It takes me at least a week to write an essay for school a quarter the length of that, and that’s with a deadline. 

It’s probably the most important thing writing fanfic has taught me, tbh. How to fully appreciate the hard work someone else has put into their story. How important the role of the audience is to an author. And that no matter what, you are never entitled to demand more of a story that you are getting for free.

I choose Gabriel....even though Felix was horrible, too.

Here's why:

Throughout season 1, this dude wanted to “rule the world” as he said at the end of each episode. Suddenly at season 2, he got a motivation for his terrible actions. His wife was apparently dead or in coma for the use of the damaged peacock miraculous.

Do notice that in the entire series up until season 5, this woman was sleeping in some sort of a coffin in the basement of his house. We literally had no idea who Emilie Agrest is....and even now I still don't know.

I'm telling you guys as an author myself, if you're trying to write a sympathetic character, give the audience some insights on the character's motivation and what they went through. In short, make the audience connect with the characters.

So Gabriel's motivation sucks and I cannot connect to him leave alone sympathize with him at all.

Throughout all five seasons, we didn't see him care about Adrien at all....or to show at least a little bit of remorse for what he'd done. He never acknowledged the fact that he made Adrien so miserable and put him through hell.

He also never acknowledged the fact that he nearly started a war between France and the U.S in New York special. He never acknowledged the fact that he created a monster that was commiting genocide in Shanghai special.

So please do enlighten me how this so-called “redemption arc” works.

Another fact to notice is how incredibly dumb Gabriel is as a villain. I don't see how he deserves victory after five seasons....leave alone a redemption arc.

Don't get me wrong. Heroes don't have to win all the time. Villains winning can be a good plotline....as long as it's well-deserved. For Gabriel....I can't say that at all.

And the final nail in coffin was that he was glorified as a hero. He never faced any backlash for any of the shitty things he did. That just pissed me off too much.

My other friend who was into Miraculous and was watching the show for eight years, finally quit and so did I.

In general.....

Way to go destroy a good concept, Astruc! I hope you're happy with yourself now.

Disclaimer: I didn't put Nathalie's redemption arc because she was the only redemption arc in season 5 that felt somewhat deserved. I didn't put Sabrina's redemption either because the writers didn't count her change as redemption because in their eyes she was innocent. I didn't put Andre because he was more of a corrupt businessman and terrible father than a villain. I only put Gabriel and Felix because their redemptions caused the most controversy, especially with Chloe's side with the fandom.

Unfortunately this is not the first time I've seen harassment in the fandom.

There's one editor who got harassed and bullied for making Lukloe (Chloe x Luka) edits.

So many people also got bullied and harassed by a twenty year old woman who's WAY TOO obsessed with Adrien and HATES people who criticize Adrien in the slightest way (I don't know her name but I know she's known as pee girl) and I know as a fact that she nearly pushed someone to suicide.

If you know anything about me, you'll know I DESPISE bullying and harassment and I DESPISE people who do it for whatever the hell their reasons are.

And to think, these so-called reasons are ridiculous. Because at the end of the day this is just a show....a kids show! And these are just characters....FICTIONAL CHARACTERS!

So tell me, is it really worth harassing people over fictional characters?! Hell no!

People can have different opinions on the show and can dislike or like a character! That's their opinions and you can have yours!

Unfortunately all of this starts with Mr. Astruc's unprofessional behavior on Twitter and his unreasonable hatred towards a fourteen year old fictional character, dividing the fandom and spreading hate.

But overall, please please try to interact with each other in a civil manner.....keep in mind that this is just a show and these are just fictional characters at the end of the day and everyone's entitled to their opinions.

Hey everyone.

It's been a while since I made a post here.

So I decided it would be nice to talk about my opinions on different shows I've watched and try to criticize them.....we will begin with one of the most famous shows on all over internet:

Miraculous tale of Ladybug and Cat Noir!

So one of my friends told me about this show around two years ago and told me to give it a try. Being curious, I decided to watch a couple of episodes.

At first I didn't think much of it and continued to watch it just to have some fun....so after I finished watching season 1, I was pretty surprised by how it ended.

My favorite episodes of this season are: Origins part 1 and 2, Stormy weather, Volpina and Collector.

So pretty much season 1 ended on a cliffhanger. Sweet!

That's why I decided to continue because I was genuinely curious of what was going to happen next.

Season 2 was AWESOME! We learned more about Adrien, Gabriel/Hawkmoth, and their relationship. We learned more about Marinette and how invested she was in becoming a fashion designer (Just like how it was shown in Style Queen)....and more importantly we learned more about Chloe and the reason behind her bratty behaviors!

Spoiler alert, Chloe started getting a very good character development which is another thing I just LOVED about this season.

She turned from a two dimensional bully to a three dimensional character.

Here are my favorite episodes of season 2:

Christmas special (because we saw Adrien vulnerable...and I really sympathized with him), Style Queen (I truly felt sorry for Chloe), Despair bear (It shows that Chloe is capable of changing and was the start of the character development for her), Wasp queen (Chloe's apology melted my heart. What she did was truly heroic), Maledictator (It was Chloe at her best) and Heroes day/season 2 finale (It was so satisfying to see Hawkmoth stepping up his game and I love the Miraclous team there)

After watching season 2 I knew I couldn't be led down (how wrong was I!)

Season 3 was the most forgettable season of all time! My favorite episodes are:

Miraclouer (Chloe resisted and akuma! Too bad that it was forgotten by everyone at the end), Chat Blanc (It was really memorable.), Felix (Felix is an awesome character)

But all of season 3 was ruined due to Miracle Queen, the worst season finale ever! Of course I should add that those episodes had some good qualities (Dragonbug, the Ladynoir moment and Marinette having a breakdown) but it was all ruined because of how they ruined Chloe's redemption arc and how all responsibility was placed on just Marinette!

Marinette and Adrien ALREADY were unequal....this just turned Cat Noir into a mere pawn and now Marinette is stressed because of so much of responsibilities even though she's just fourteen!

So season 3 finale was the start of the show going down the hill!

Once season 4 is fully released I'll talk about it in another post.

But so far.....in conclusion, this series wasn't that great....it was just a romance superhero series at season 1! Season 2, we had so many developments. Season 3 was meh other than those episodes I liked.
