New follower here! I just started reading your fanfic about maybe two weeks ago, and I gotta say; I am invested. Your writing is so amazing and you do such a great job at describing characters and scenes. And you brought me back to my HiJack phase from years ago. Don't know if you still do art requests, but if you do I have a request. Since it's November and it's starting to get cooler, can you draw Hiccup and Jack going on an autumn evening walk together? Also, your art is awesome too. :)

finally wrote my own hijack fanfiction, and of course it's a Star Trek AU, what did you expect. Here's the little summary blurb:

The USS Enterprise under the command of Captain Hiccup Haddock takes on a new First Officer, Commander Jack Frost. Finding your place in a new crew can be difficult and Jack has to adjust quickly, since—in typical Star Trek fashion—space adventures and dangerous missions are lurking around every corner. Surviving in deep space requires a lot of trust and understanding. Will this new team live up to the challenge?

I'm honestly just glad to have finally finished and published something, instead of just sitting on half a dozen wips, so I'd love to hear what yall think! 😊

From Chapter 36 of OTNWAS! Dawww, young love :’’D I had a lot of fun fleshing out the acting for this scene, I love Hiccup and Astrid’s dynamic as friends. Adding my favourite drawing of Hiccup here to end off:

Love OTNWAS and I'm poking around the tag and I think that the formula it popularized of "Jack Frost goes back in time to the Viking Era" is great and makes a lot of sense. But I have the feeling that the reason no one ever does it the other way around (Viking Hiccup has to deal with 199X USA) is NOT because of the logistics of hiding a dragon, which is a genre that has precedent.

It's because no one wants to commit to the exploration of what Hiccup "turned your back and he invented another field of Viking Science" Horrendous Haddock III would do with a high school science textbook.

Jack leaned away and put his hands on Hiccup’s cheeks, checking again if it really was him. And it was. There was no doubt in it. Jack hadn’t even been aware he’d memorized the exact location of each one of his freckles, but here they were, just as they had been centuries ago. And there was the scar on his chin, and his bushy eyebrows, and his big, round nose. A laugh – partly sob – bubbled out of him. He kissed his nose, then his forehead, then his cheek. Hiccup began to laugh too, but stopped when Jack pressed their lips together. Jack felt a tear trail onto his hand.
