when it comes to the vks coming to auradon... eleanora doesn’t really care? she’s kind of indifferent to the whole thing. she does not agree with the barrier coming down fully. but as far as the kids... they’re kids. just because their parents were bad doesn’t mean they should be punished. but she also likes to think of herself as living proof that they aren’t their parents. (and conveniently leaves out the part about not being raised by her mother because it leads into a nature vs nurture argument that she never wants to have.) her one issue, above everything else, is her assumption that all of these new kids will be welcomed into auradon prep with open arms. and that makes her.... angry. she has been trying to get her foot in the door for years. and somehow, just always falls short. so when she believes that all these kids are going to be given free rides, it really makes her nasty. and bitter. and she kind of hates them all.

i spend [more time than i should admit to] thinking about eleanora and how her lack of a heart effect her / her life. because she isn’t what most people would expect when hearing she has no heart. not that anyone finds out bc lol she doesn’t even know. she’s not Only numb. her life isn’t filled with this haunting emptiness that ticks away at her like some kind of disease. in fact, i don’t think most days she notices that things are off? a lot of the inspiration for her behavior and mannerisms without her heart, or i guess you could say the lore, was drawn from season one ouat. where we see graham without his heart. and for the first half of the time we know him, we have no idea. he still feels, he thinks. everything is kind of normal. and it isn’t until emma shows up that it’s really... brought into light how numb he is? and i don’t think it’s much different for eleanora. not in the sense that someone comes along and she’s.. ‘oh my god, i’m empty.’ it’s never that. she just thinks she isn’t overly emotional. that numb feeling for her comes and goes, to some extent. she’s spent her whole life around people and thinks she’s feeling everything they are, just not as intensely there are days or moments when it really hits her. when that numb is swallowing her whole and she thinks maybe there’s something off. but it’s not a big mystery to her. 

and while she is definitely not relying on anyone to make her feel, she does notice Something when it comes to being romantic with someone. by nature, she’s a very physical person. and being involved on that level has never been difficult for her. there’s an itch. she’s gonna scratch it. no mess, no fuss. and while she does feel a general liking towards someone or interest in dating... there’s something missing and she knows it. even any past relationships, there’s never been that big feeling. the thing she reads about in books or magazines. or hears in the stories of people’s parents falling in love. that nervous beating of her heart. she doesn’t get that. and a lot of times, that scares her. she worries she’s broken. that she’s really is an evil bitch just like her mother. and she’ll never find happiness.

curiosity   is   a   flash   across   her   features.   she   takes   a   pause     —    glances   thrown   over   each   shoulder   and   in   any   direction   the   presenter   of   her   gift   may   have   left.   there’s   nothing.     not   even   so   much   as   a   smudge   along   carpet   to   offer   her   an   explanation.   so   she   bends   to   pluck   the   small   vial   from   the   ground.   it   bares   no   real   markings.   just   the   label   that   offers   a   vague   instruction.   why   does   this   feel   oddly   familiar ?

“            is   this   a   joke  ?  ”      she   speaks   to   an   empty   hallway  ,   allowing   herself   to   laugh   because   if   not   she’ll   scream.   but   nails   still   tap   against   the   glass ;   turning   it   over   a   few   times   and   looking   for   clues.   well  ,   one   specific   one.   because   she’s   heard   the   stories.    knows   all   too   well   what   happens   to   the   naïve   who   listen   to   drink   me   labels           or   eat   me   decorative   icing.      “  as   if.  ”      and   without   much   hesitation  ,   the   bottle   is   dropped   into   the   bottom   of   her   bag.   

she’s   not   entirely   sure   what   it’s   contents   hold  ,   maybe   nothing.    but   she   knows   one   thing...   today   isn’t   the   day   she   finds   out.
