Sometimes it’s super obvious when you don’t like a ship and you just stay away from it. But sometimes you join a fandom, and you see 100000575365 fanarts every day and all of them gorgeous, and everyone is joking, memeing, and talking about that one ship. And your brain goes: "Well damn, fan content is amazing, everyone’s obsessed, they basically feel like fandom-declared canon, and they do look good together… guess I ship it too?"

You start to read fics. And...at best you feel nothing, at worst you become convinced they’d never work together like that, their personalities aren't compatible, and you can’t see them being into each other in canon at all. Not because the fics are bad. They can be very good. But your only reaction is still: nope, no, absolutely not.

And you never ever try to read anything about that ship again, and you're also low-key angry that you let the fandom gaslight you into thinking you liked it.

i LOVE this fic beyond words. this is a true masterclass in combining canons, and the different perspectives throughout the chapters really showcase shep's POV on it all versus the other firsts' POV on who they are rapidly discovering is an alien. which ofc has interesting ramifications for sephiroth and jenova. a beloved re-read.

I CANNOT OVERSTATE MY LOVE FOR THIS FIC. this had me gripped by the balls for the whole 370k+ adventure. chrysanthe is such a lovely character, miraak is given so much depth, and i'm just. absolutely feral for it. if you have any passing knowledge of skyrim i HIGHLY recommend this, it got me hyperfixated again for a solid few months.

i am sooooo obsessed w this rn guys you dont even know. jiuyuan is one of my fave svsss ships and this fic does NOT disappoint. refreshing, original, unpredictable, and the pov swapping between chapters is hilarious when shen jiu sees wu yanzi from the outside as this competent, stoic, cool cultivator, but on the inside shen yuan is just screaming and panicking 24/7. a must read
