In this world, each God has their own domain, a realm that reflects their personality as well as their job. Roman’s domain is an endless meadow filled with wildflower, with a large tree in the centre.
The tree has leaves shaped like hearts with names and birthdays written on them, and red strings attaching themselves from one leaf to another. Some of these strings were normal, while others were glowing.
This tree was a way to help Roman keep track of the world’s soulmates. The tree had determined the God’s soulmates as well, but those were leaves Roman chose not to look at in order to prevent meddling.
Roman was standing on one of the many platforms built into his tree, making sure all the strings were where they were supposed to be. His brother had a habit of messing with the strings, so Roman had to make sure they were in order.
As he worked, Roman was unaware of a smaller God dressed in black, hidden within the branches. He watched Roman in curiously, simply enthralled by the other God.
“Well, would you look at that.” Roman cheered proudly as a string began to glow. “Abby finally found her soulmate.” He stated fondly, remembering the mortal girl that came to his temple so many times.
Virgil carefully moved through the branches to get a better look at Roman, but to his dismay, he lost his footing, causing himself to fall.
Roman leapt back, startled as the God of Death fell through several strings, getting tangled into them as he dangled in front of Roman.
Roman stared at Virgil in shock as Virgil stared back in panic. “Virgil?” He asked before letting out a sigh. “Let me get you out of there… Do I want to know what you were doing up there?“ Roman huffed as he reached for one of the strings.
Virgil hissed harshly at Roman, and forgetting in his panic that he had the ability to teleport, he attempted to free himself of the strings by struggling. This only caused the strings to get tangled up further, restraining the God as his panic grew.
“Hey, Virgil, it’s okay. Let me help you.” Roman insisted. Virgil fell limp, and Roman shook his head before freeing Virgil from his predicament. As Roman worked to undo the strings, Virgil remembered he could in fact teleport, and simply noped right out of there.
Roman, left behind with his confusion, huffed in frustration. Now he had to fix these strings, and just when he thought he wouldn’t have to fix the tree this morning.

Sanders Sides God AU
Long ago, there were Titans… Beings that created the Universe as a form of art. Then the Titans created something that they could not prepare for… Life.
Unable to agree on how life should grow and evolve, the Titans agreed to create a purely impartial being to run the Universe with themselves acting as advisors. This was Thomas, The God of Creation
(Picture made using Picrew)
For awhile, this worked, until the Titans ended up fading away, becoming one with the Universe they created… Well, most Titans at least, but more on that later.
Running the World alone, Thomas spent his days watching the antics of animals living through the circle of life. As strange and incredible as the world was, it started to become predictable as time went by.
Then the animals evolved into Humanity, and everything changed. Speaking of which, Thomas created a God to help him and keep him company while running the Universe. This God, his child, was Janus, The God of Change.
(Picture made using Picrew)
As the Humans evolved, Thomas found it more and more difficult to process the way they advanced. Likely it was Janus’s influence that made the Humans advance so quickly. Humans were collecting and creating knowledge like no creature had before, including abstract ideas such as religion. With Religion, came sacrifices.
As if sacrificing animals wasn’t heart breaking enough, Thomas was shattered to see the Humans sacrificing one of their own in his name. The reason they chose said human specifically was because the human was what they called a Witch, and he had claimed that due to a lack of evidence, there was no reason to believe their Gods existed. When they killed him, Thomas felt so guilty that he decided to make the human a God. And so, Logan, the God of Knowledge, was created.
(Picture made using Picrew)

After his best friend was killed in the name of his people’s gods, a mortal named Patton decided to prevent any further sacrifices from being made. He became a vigilante of sorts, helping those chosen to be sacrificed to escape before they could be caught. One day, however, the law enforcement set up a trap for him, and he was caught in the act.
Janus had been observing this human in his spare time, and was impressed by his persistence in the matter of changing something greater than himself. When the humans brought him to be their next sacrifice, Janus gifted Patton with special abilities so that he could fight back.
These abilities kept Patton alive for a long time, until one day when he sacrificed himself to save yet another person who he was helping to escape. Moved by his story, Thomas made him a God as well. Thus Patton, the God of Morals, was created.

Now the story of how Death came to be is a complicated one. Death was always a part of nature, and Thomas had created several after lives. However… With Humans and their incredible self awareness, there was a drawback. Many Humans were not willing to accept death, which caused the world to be filled with lost souls that refused to pass on. One of these souls was Virgil.
It had been thousands of years since Patton and Logan had been recreated as Gods, and the world was much different then. Though it was still cruel. Patton worked hard to keep the world good and honest, but sometimes people did cruel things in the name of good, such as throwing those labeled as insane into asylums for the sake of protecting those that weren’t. Virgil, having severe anxiety and lacking the ability to speak, was one of these people.
He wasn’t special due to his cruel death like Logan. He wasn’t special due to his life like Patton. He was special due to what he did after his death.
When he died, Virgil was yet another lost soul, too scared to cross the bridge into the after life. He felt a strong sense of empathy for those who were just as scared, if not more, and since he had nothing better to do, he chose to help those people.
Thoma was amazed as he watched this mortal soul calming those who weren’t ready to leave yet. Virgil seemed to have some kind of gift for calming their fears and guiding them, without crossing the bridge himself. So, Thomas made Virgil a God, thus creating Virgil, the God of Death.
(Picture made in Picrew. TW: Scars)
The story of the two youngest Gods is something that Thomas himself is still trying to understand. Specifically, the second half of the story is what he’s still trying to understand.
They had become Gods due to Virgil falling in love with a mortal, a mortal so full of optimism, bravery, honour, and kindness, a mortal so beautiful inside and out that Virgil’s heart broke whenever he realized he’d have to help that mortal through death one day.
Then that day came, and no matter how hard he tried to prepare for it, Virgil’s heart couldn’t take it. So he asked Thomas to make Roman into a God. Thus, Roman became the God of Love.

Now here’s the part of the story Thomas is still to this day trying to figure out. You see, Roman had a twin brother, whom he was inseparable with. So when Roman was made into a God, Thomas made his brother one as well. Originally Remus was going to be the God of Lust, but… Instead Remus became the God of Hatred.
(Picture made in Picrew. TW: Scars, Horror(?), basically well God Remus.)
Such interesting stories left behind us, and yet there are so many interesting stories to come, and so many smaller Gods to meet! We hope you’ll enjoy the story as it progresses!
