Hello, everyone!!!

We here at Famder News are happy to announce 600 followers!!!

Well, more than 600 at this point.

Thank you all SO MUCH for supporting us and what we do! It means the world to us all that you guys would stick around and look at our work!!!

So, our special thing for 600 followers? A Q&A!!!

Over the next week (for me, Friday the 9th to Friday the 16th) we'll be collecting every ask that we're sent in order to make one mass post with all of the things you guys want to say! Over this week, we'll also be doing some polls for future content as well as some simple questionaires (things like, who is your favorite side and what your favorite episode is) just for fun! More News Monday

Hey guys!!! It’s time for another More News Monday! It’s supposed to be Mod Remi’s turn. but ya homeboy Mod Wheat’s picking up the slack since Mod Remi had surgery today. They’re doin just fine, just didn’t have the juice to post–which is all fine and good!!! Spending time to heal is 110% fine :D

1. Thomas Updates

Tommy Boi posted a TikTok video and honestly???? Big Mood, my homeboy on TikTok living his BEST life on all those 6-second video apps. We STAN a Gorgeous Man!!!

2. Fandom Updates

Well, there’s not a ton going on right now. Still some RemRom drama, based on people claiming to have been pestered by the Big Remrom Blog(s) when, if your humble Wheat can have an opinion, appears to Not Be The Case after doing about 30 seconds of research based solely on aforementioned big blogs. Still, though, y’all allowed to have your own opinions–let us know what YOU think in the reblogs (not about Remrom the ship though, we know it’s considered incest by 99% of the fandom and we know where we stand on said issue. We just report the news as best we can)!

Also, your local Mod Wheat made a Remus skin for Minecraft–y’all can get ya hands on that once I make a post on my main for it :D

3. Theory Discussion

So, today’s theory is less a Fandom Theory on the sides and more a theory on Deceit In General: That Sympathetic Deceit? a Fake Tag. (I rmember seeing MULTIPLE people talking about it over the past couple of weeks, but not who started it–if you guys know, let us know and we’ll edit this post!)

So, it goes like this: Sympathetic Deceit, as he is portrayed in Fanfic, is just… How Deceit Is Normally. Sure, he has his moments of Not Being Perfect–but so do the others! His are just Shown Earlier than the Main Three (since, y’know, Virgil started out as a Bad Bean). And, as such, the only Deceit tags that should be used in reference to our boi as a singular unit is Unsympathetic Deceit and Deceit (or Deceit Sanders, if you wanna add a last name).

My opinion? Well, as a Deceit Stan, I happen to agree. If you don’t want to see Truly Evil Deceit, block t he Unsympathetic Deceit tag. If you don’t want to see Deceit, then block THAT tag. It’s the same respect I’d offer to people who have issues with, say, Unsympathetic Patton or Unsympathetic Roman.

4. Other Things That Happened This Week

Well, as stated above, Remi’s done a surgery today. They’re doing good, though–we’re sending all the good vibes so that they heal up quick!!!

Season 4 of Overlord (a personal FAVORITE anime of mine) was allegedly announced, which I, for one, cannot WAIT for!!! What can I say, I just LOVE a good villain ;P

I know that schools are starting up soon for a bunch of us, and to that I say: I believe in you!!! Be it high school, middle school, college, or university, I BELIEVE in you guys!!! We can DO it!!! Thomas believes in us, so believe in the Thomas that believes in YOU!!!

More News Monday

Hey guys!!! I’m back and ready for Monday, and I’ve got some Juicy Stuff for y’all uvu

1. Thomas Updates

Thomas is at Vidcon!!! He made a post on his twitter about meeting theodd1sout with a hand-drawn piece of art by him, which I thought was really cool!!! I haven’t kept up with theodd1sout, but I’m glad to see the guy is doing well :D

2. Fandom Updates

So!!! Fandom Updates!!!

As far as I’m aware, the RemRom shenanigans have calmed down–the people who don’t like it have, for the most part, calmed down about it, and the guys that DO ship it have mainly stayed in their own piece of the fandom. Now, if you guys follow my blog, you know my stance on RemRom (the tl;dr is I don’t ship it and never will, but ship and let ship: you can find my post about it HERE) and that it isn’t the same as my other mods’ viewpoints, but I’m happy to see the drama involving it has died down.This fandom is super great, so I’d like to keep it that way!!!

On top of this, I’ve seen TONS of fanwork involving Remus!!! I’ve seen him shipped with the others, seen angst written for him, seen fantastic fanarts of him being his goblin self, and overall I’m overjoyed to see the fandom finally embracing the stinky garbage man! If you are one of the folks who hasn’t seen Remus’s episode still because of triggers, HERE is a visual trigger-free version of the episode! If someone wants to hit me up with some quality Remus fanfic that’ll rip my heart out, send it my way!!!

Finally, I’ve seen a whole bunch of people thinking about what the next episode will be. I’ve heard Remus Backstory, I’ve heard an episode with Remus AND Deceit, I’ve heard final side reveal, AND I’ve heard people saying that the next ep is gonna be about Roman’s side of the mind! I, personally, think the next ep will be the follow-up to Selfishness Vs Selflessness, solely because I hate the resolution from that episode. It needs a part 2, Thomas & Co know it needs a Part 2, and a Part 2 is coming. I wonder if the Part 2 will introduce our final side, though… THAT would be interesting!

3. Theory Discussion

So, the theory I’d like to discuss today is who the newest side will be… Or I WAS, except that Remi beat me to it!!! So, instead, we’re gonna look at an oldie but a goodie… The theory that Virgil is Paranoia.

Now, for this to work, you do have to keep in mind that Virgil used to be a Dark Side; he very well could have changed his role in the mind to be less about pure fear and more about fear CAUSED by arguably more concrete information. An evolution, if you will, from straight fear to Fear With A Purpose (which is not to say that fear doesn’t have a purpose, just that with Virgil it’d have MORE of a purpose). So, when the sides avoid calling Virgil Paranoid, it can be theorized that its a respect for who he is NOW and not who he USED to be, and not just because Virgil looks like he’s going to remove heads from shoulders when it gets said.

My personal views on it? Well, I think it’d be really cool if it were true! I can’t speak for everyone, but my anxieties (about everything really, but more specifically about things like ghosts and stuff) stems from paranoia; I’d like to think that anxiety encompasses Paranoia, rather than replaces it. So Virgil gained more things to be in control of, rather than JUST being Paranoia.

5. Other Things That Happened This Week

Alright!!! The Amazon Strike is happening today and tomorrow, so if you can avoid it then don’t use Amazon or amazon-affiliated websites on those days! I’ve sent out my collection of Remus pictures (113 of them total) to a couple of friends who wanted some screenshots, and all of our mods have seen the newest episode! Remi started a Receipt (Remus X Deceit; and yes, I know the ship name isn’t receipt, but it works xD) fic, and it’s really good!!! They’re gonna get me shipping Receipt at this rate, but read it HERE!!! For the folks who knew me a LONG time ago, you’ll know that I got SUPER into Undertale and am the author of one of the larger fanfics, House of Papyrus. Well, good news for y’all: I’ve updated the fic and added new content; right now, I’m working on the next fully new content chapter. Read it HERE if you want to read it.

Last but not least, we do want to let those of you who have sent us suggestions know that we’ve seen them!!! We’re planning what we want to implement, since we’ve heard a fanart day as well as a cosplay day; we′ll keep you guys posted on that, so keep your eyes peeled!!!

More News Monday!

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another more news Monday, this time I’m your host, Mod Aca.

The latest episode will be discussed and not labelled as spoilers as today marks the end of the spoiler ban.

1. Thomas Twitter/General update

It’s the big one! A new Sanders Sides episode came out on the 25th June, Dealing with INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS (The Dark Side of Creativity.) Not only did we get a new episode, a new side and a bunch of new lore which confirmed a lot of people’s theories, we also got to see Logan being the real MvP of the episode. A new Pride Video is due out at some point today - at the time of writing this it had not gone live. 

Thomas was rocking a really cool rainbow jacket in some photos he shared on Twitter.

This weeks shout out song went to all the jubilant “J(a/e)n(e/e)” so check out his twitter. 

2. Fandom Updates.

A new side! We have finally met another ‘Dark Side’ or as Virgil prefers to call them, one of the Others. It’s another Creativity, aka “The Duke”, Remus Sanders, Roman’s ‘evil twin’. He appears to cover intrusive and impulsive thoughts, as well as anything that is rated higher than PG -13, a side of Thomas that he has actively tried to suppress. 

Some people find him triggering, and others adore him. Ironically the way people tend to describe him remains constant regardless of your own personal views on him - dirty trash rat man. As Remus says himself, he is ‘stinky’. As well as being here to have fun. The art has been awesome as people have been inspired by this new side. 

And of course, a new side brings a lot of new discourse, namely the fact that Thomas has made the point of canonically stating that Roman and Remus are twins. Which has then led into the discussion of incest, censorship and a lot of angry people on both sides which is rocking the fandom apart. It is a highly sensitive, controversial topic that has triggered many people.

3. Theory Discussion

Well I was going to cover ‘Is Virgil a Dark Side’ buuuuut…. 

So instead I’m going with ‘Virgil ‘coming out’ to Character Thomas is a calibrate representation of coming out as Gay/Trans/Anything to someone you are close to.

It’s not really been a secret that Virgil has had the hardest journey finding his seat at the table. He has struggled against who he is and who they see him as ever since his first introduction and a large part of his arc has been about them all accepting him, and vice versa. 

To his credit, Virgil doesn’t shy away from the fact that he used to be someone who did scare Thomas all the time. 

But it’s been clear for a while now that he has been uncomfortable, hiding something. Ever since the first mention of ‘The Others’ in fact. Twice Virgil has nearly been outed by people who knew his secret. Deceit and Remus have both made comments to his past, to ‘old times’ or ‘so you’ve never been reluctant to share anything with the group’.

This isn’t even necessarily a malicious act on either of their parts - Deceit has been shown to be trying to make Thomas be more honest about himself and we don’t know enough about Remus’ character to actively judge if he says anything beyond what he is thinking or feeling in that moment. Perhaps he did honestly simply meant he was pleased to see Virgil, who he might not have spoken to in years. 

Holding that over him could also have been a way of trying to regain some kind of control over Anxiety and possibly over Thomas as a whole. And Virgil is through with letting them do that. Even if it means he has to put everything he loves on the line. 

We have no idea if Virgil was really ready to tell Thomas or not. He was clearly uncomfortable and upset, which is understandable considering he was sharing a very personal thing. 

The fallout of that is going to be wild. 

My opinion;

Well, this is my personal theory. And I know, it’s less a theory, and more an interpretation. I’m sure someone else has already thought of it and no doubt written about it in far more elegant terms than me. But I am all here for Virgil representing the ‘other’ in a different context to the ‘others’. Our anxious boy’s journey has always been about being different and finding a place which accepts that and doesn’t try and change him. Virgil doesn’t fit, not in a Hogwarts House, not with the others and not with the mains. But he’s made his own place regardless. 

Coming out to Thomas was a huge step, a brave one, and a painfully familiar conversation 

I’m sure he is going to be rocked by what he said, just as Thomas will be. But that won’t be where his story ends. 

4. General World News

Mod Wheat successfully moved to their new home. Mod Remi also successfully moved to their new home. Congrats to you both!

If you are British you will be horrified to realise that Wimbledon has started today, which means two weeks of people playing tennis and the general public pretending to care about the sport. 

The terrible events in Hong Kong continue to happen, see HERE for an article about the latest news from the BBC. I love you all and it sickens me to my core that this is happening.
