I just loved Janus singing Into the Unknown. It was such a gorgeous video and I desperately wanted to make something for it. The fact it's a gift for the awesomest @lily-janus? Even better.

I also do not draw Janus enough, it's kind of a crime.

Quick Sanders Sides post

I’m not really a shipper, but I gotta admit I’m seeing some interesting ongoing themes with Roman and Virgil’s relationship:

In “Accepting Anxiety, Part 2/2…”, (7:12-7:46) Roman points out how Anxiety (the person and emotion) pushes Thomas to be his best self creatively. “I think that’s as good a sign as any that you’re willing to work as a team and that you make us… better.” (cue sweet smile from Virgil)

In “Fitting In (Hogwarts Houses!)”, which acted as season opener, Roman is the one who realized that Virgil had an issue with standing out, and wanted him to see standing out can be good. He also puts forward the idea of Virgil identifying with Gryffindor (after being quite possessive of Gryffindor throughout the episode) and inspires Virgil to change his look to something less dark. Notably, Virgil refuses to identify as Gryffindor because he’s not “reckless” (more on that later).

In “Moving On, Part ½…” (12:04-12:49) Thomas realizes, after Virgil and Roman reminisce on how hard they had to work during Thomas’s teenage years, that “I might not have had Roman create half as many stories and worlds as he did without Virgil giving you reason to.” (cue Virgil and Roman giving each other weird looks)

So now, we come to “Flirting with Social Anxiety.”  Virgil - after spending the episode trying to keep Thomas away from rejection and humiliation, afraid of standing out and putting all their hearts on the line - literally and recklessly pushes Thomas towards the guy he has a crush on. 

Because of Roman.

And Roman, in response, recognizes his act as bravery.

If true bravery can’t exist without fear, then Roman can’t get to his highest self without Virgil. And Virgil turned into a happier version of himself - Thomas irl likened it to the “butterflies in the stomach” feeling (though I can’t find the source) - because he acted in spite of fear. Because he acted more like Roman. 

I have no idea where this is going, but I’m intrigued by the parallels. Maybe by the end of the season, Virgil will know what his Hogwarts House is ;)

(And if someone made a gifset comparing two or more of these moments, I’d be super grateful)
