Rewatching the RAISE THE FLAG tour and realising that they were at the height of their popularity in 2019 before the whole pandemic thing and getting emo about it

But also damn RTF is such a good live. The opening half-hour is just, the soul of live performances. It’s so good. That opening shot of the seven of them. Blues and reds. The colours are so good. I have so much love for this live.

Member colours

So I just noticed the cutest thing.

Sandaime members all have their own corresponding colours right? It’s used for all their promos and goods (ever since they started making separate member goods) and stuff. They are heavily featured in this round of STARS tour too, with the roses. The colours all fit the members quite well, nothing special.

Except.

I saw the cover of one of their earliest singles “Go my way” (2012). Notice anything?

Obviously there is the microsoft wordart™-esque album art, but. Their colours are different, but in a very specific way. That’s right. Except for Gun-chan, who is pink and will always remain pink because he is cute and perfect that way, all three pairs have swapped colours with their partners! The two leaders, the two vocals, and the gekidan besties.

Idk I think that is really cute.

A “i really wanna go see STARS live” rant

Here’s the deal. Technically I could. Travel isn’t too much of a hassle; I don’t have work currently; With the help of google translate and a lot of patience and research I could probably get second hand tickets with a bearable chunk out of my wallet; And I can binge study japanese to make sure I make it to and through the concert.

But getting the tickets seems like... such an overwhelming task. I am for sure never going to get one the “official way”, because the whole fanclub/lottery system terrifies me. I’m more used to being a casual Westend/ european theatre fan where I can just purchase a ticket online from a straightforward site and go to the venue with said ticket and be surrounded by people who have more or less the same amount of information as me. I have also been a fan of takarazuka for ~4 years by now and I still haven’t been able to see a single show for the same reason.

I also don’t know if I *really* want to see them in real life all by myself. Reading people’s repos of the live already gives me a sort of emotional response, and I don’t know if I will be okay if I was really there and don’t have anyone to talk to afterwards. For some people it might be a dream come true but for me I fear it might be the breaking of a glass wall that I don’t want broken. Maybe it is best I just watch them through the screen. Or very possibly I am just being overly emo about something that won’t even happen lol.

On the other hand. I won’t be missing out on everything because there will be the DVD release, which is a much better way of seeing a 360 degree stage unless you are literally in the front rows imho. But like damn do I want to see them do “kono uchuu no katasumi” and “VII crowns” and especially “Stars” and “Eeny meeny” with my own eyes.

三代目 J SOUL BROTHERS LIVE TOUR 2023"STARS" ～Land of Promise～ is getting a DVD release

Available in September with some additional limited goods also available for purchase. (including a photobook and a STARS drinking glass I think)

It also means that we now have an (all but official) setlist for the concert.

The rule was they have to take turn saying I love you to each other and the first one to laugh or get embarrass loses the game.

Btw, Ken-chan was appointed to be the judge so he didn’t participate in the game.
