Sarah (Hank) and Manny talk about Hank
Swiss Army Man (2016)
Directors:
-Dan Kwan
-Daniel Scheinert
My friends and family were put off by this film because of how weird it was. In my opinion that was the whole point. Hank's character never wanted to come off as weird, so he couldn't fart in front of Manny or talk to Sarah on the bus. Weirdness is natural and isn't something we should be afraid to show, which is why Manny's character has no problem farting in front of Hank or saying inappropriate things.

Mr. Perlman's monologue to Elio
Call Me By Your Name (2017)
Director: Luca Guadagnino
Screenplay:
-Luca Guadagnino
-James Ivory
-Walter Fasano
As I have grown since my first watch of Call Me By Your Name in my freshman year of high school, I have taken Mr. Perlman's words into serious account. They have told me that pain is the human condition, along with the happiness of what comes before and after said pain. I understand that my emotions are what make me human of course. So, it's ok to feel the joy, pain, sorrow, and grace that comes with love; whether it be romantic, platonic, or familial.
