Went to Mottisfont with my class to see Mottisfont House, The Observatory and The Visitor Centre.
Notes from the trip:
wet weather so was difficult to find dry place to sit and draw
the paintwork inside the old abbey was amazing as was the architecture of the building
interesting design choices, particularly how the priory remained hidden and revealed in certain areas
cladding on the observatory was very intriguing
the visitor centre was a very nice building
materials chosen work very well together

We went to London for the day to visit the 2016 Serpentine Pavilion, Summer Houses, Serpentine Sackler Cafe and V&A Museum.
Notes I made about the trip:
this years pavilion was very interesting
the weight of the blocks forced lower uprights to bend
summer houses were all very enjoyable to experience
wooden one was my favourite although i didn’t like the finish very much. very raw, allowed for weathering which was possibly the intention
enjoyed being able to see the sackler cafe by zaha hadid for a 2nd time and draw it and the manipulation of light inside intrigued me again

Visit to Ramboll Offices in New Forest with the class
The building was designed to be as energy efficient as possible and to have a small carbon footprint, as well as to be very modern, whilst still fitting into its surroundings, with older buildings nearby.
This was a very short visit so no drawings, but I learnt a lot from the visit.

These are the photographs of my final piece for my A2 Coursework, titled Fold. This work was presented on the wall, with three projectors surrounding, with loose bits of acetate, some arranged in certain shapes, and other bits left loose. My reason for doing this is so that these sculptures can become slightly interactive, and the viewers can be involved in experimenting with colours and shadows.

After making the sculpture in the style of Habitat 67, I decided to experiment with the form, as this had been my main line of inquiry throughout this project, I settled on looking at triangles, and how I could make interesting structures in a similar way to that of habitat 67.
However, not only did I want to experiment with triangles, I also wanted to try making a more 3 Dimensional model, and so instead of using a rectangular board as the background, I decided to use a circular board as the floor.
Once I had made this first model and painted the rough shadows onto it, I decided to apply the same colour projections, that I had experimented with on the previous sculpture.

As part of my Media Studies A Level, we have also had to answer some Evaluation questions in different styles, for this question we decided to create a slideshow with Narration, my partner Richard wrote the original script, and was the narrator, and I then edited together the video.
