Critical Thinking Activity
We believe that if the state was to give us 5,000,000 and another company was to give us 1,000,000, we believe that I wold be best if we invest the end into multiple categories. The categories we selected were 1,000,000 to go to crime because we felt that there are already a lot of funds going toward that, so our extra million would just be the cherry on top, 3,000,000 to go to education because we felt that our new and upcoming community will begin with the youth, so with that being state, we will ensure that they are highly educated, and finally with our last 2,000,000 we will invest that into affordable housing because we believe that if housing costs were lower, there would be fewer homeless persons, which may contribute to improving the general public's health. We believe that the mayor should also invest in which what we didn't invest so that way each category would benefit. we believe that the money should go toward something that is long term so that way the community stays afloat. we didn't feel like there was any irrevalant information but the information that we felt was revenant was that it was a urban area and also that the neighborhoods weren't too good. some other information needed to solve the problem could be where current funds are going. As previously stated, we believe the funds should go to multiple interventions because it would tackle a bigger cause. The way that our proposal. would change if the price was upped to 100,000,000 was we would evenly invest the money to each and every group so that we could have the best community possible.

Chapter 13 Fieldwork
I chose a Trinidad and Tobago native to conduct my interview with. He revealed to me that he genuinely wanted to alter his life by relocating to a better environment while going into depth about why his family opted to move him to America. He understood that the criminality that was taking place all around him wasn't in the best interest because Trinidad is a third-world country. His family chose to relocate him to America for a number of reasons, including America’s superior educational system. Because his parents did not want to leave their place of origin while wanting the best for their kid, the individual I interviewed moved to the nation in 2018 while leaving his family behind. Some of the hurdles he had to cross to get to America were that overseas students are only allowed to work 15 hours per week and that the accent is difficult for others to comprehend.Overall, I had a great time learning more about my friend, and this interview helped me understand how anthropologists actually do their job.

Throughout Chapter 10, Max Webster reveals his point of view on who should be in power, basically who should be in control of the nations important artifacts, documents, and money supply and with that he concludes the idea that the government should be in power. Thus, the article above proves Websters point of view because it highlights how the Federal Reserve sole purpose is to ensure the nation's economy is stable. With such powers, they are the ones that's ensuring another Great Depression is avoided.

Kinship chart
What my kinship chart represents is how small and closed off my family really is. It represents how even though my family is really small it shows how close we all are. I feel like being as though we are a small family, it helps us connect more because we realize that we are all we have and that family is everything. My father has three sister in which one of them has two sons that are my first cousins, my mother has a sister and a brother that is married and plan on having kids. This chart also shows my two baby brothers and sister.

Institutional Racism
Institutional racism uses systematic policies and practices that provide different levels of access to goods, services and opportunities of society by race. It affects entire families, even children, in regards to where they live, the type of education they are able to get, the food they are able to eat and the kind of opportunities they will encounter in life.My media illustrates the isolation and alienation individuals of color may face and its detrimental effect on their mental health.

White Supremacy
There are two separate but related types of white supremacist groups shown in the above graphic. The Confederates and the KKK are the two groups, respectively. Both of these organizations are renowned for their severe racism and hatred of the black people. This graphic serves as an example of white supremacy by demonstrating how strong these two organizations were and the fact that, as a result of their bigotry, these two groups are now seen as illegal.

Microagression
From a simplistic viewpoint, racism lies on a wide spectrum, and can range from hate crimes to micro-aggressions. The latter can be so subtle that it may be difficult for either the perpetrator or victim of microaggressions to take in what has happened in that moment. Diving deeper into the microaggressions, we have microassaults, microinsults and microinvalidations. Essentially, these all consist of actions (commonly comments) that are meant to subtly negate, exclude, or nullify the thoughts, feelings or life experience of people of color. These kinds of remarks and gestures can be painful because they are meant to target people who belong to specific demographics that are discriminated against or subject to stereotypes. These demographics consist predominantly of African Americans, but include people of color, and women.

Racism
The way that this image above illustrates the concept of racism is that it shows the reader how the police of America really does not care for the well being of the African American community. The picture shows police was using brutal force to harm a unarmed black man.

Colonialism
The media at top depicts a group of enslave African beginning to become colonized and in shackles. As can be seen, once a region is colonized, its inhabitants are instantly released from slavery and employed as slaves or servants by the conquerors. This medium exemplifies the notions of race in these civilizations since it shows how the whites instantly enslaved the African people because they saw them as inferiors because of their skin tone. The way that this media illustrates race in the African community is that it shows how the africans were treated as slaves and also what they had to endure.

White Privilege
Being white and having privilege mean precisely what they say they do. White people often have access to better opportunities. However, this image illustrates the concept of White Privilege since, as seen above, people of the white descent are completely aware of their privilege as the sign states. Even though white privilege is a thing that does not necessarily mean that it is a bad thing. there are many instances where people use their white privilege to help other people such as aiding in a BLM protest (as seen above).

College Students and Consumer Culture
While doing this assignment I realized a lot of new attributes about myself. Some of these include how much of a spendthrift I am. Something else that I found out about myself while doing this assignment was that social media is the reason why I bought a lot of the things that I have. With all of this being stated I will reflect on this chart and hopefully it will aid me in spending my money more wiser.

Making the familiar unfamiliar and the unfamiliar familiar!!!
The item that I chose to make myself unfamiliar with was an Apple Watch. The first ever Apple Watch was made in head designer John Ivy’s lab back in 2014. This item was manufactured in China. The way that the apple watch made its way into my home was for some time, i yearned to have a suitable Apple collection. My desire for this Apple collection is the reason why I bought this watch. There are many ways that apple watches impact other peoples' lives. Some of these ways Apple watches can help others track people's workout and they also can help check their blood oxygen levels. The impact that my impact has on my life is it keeps track of my workout, it unlocks my phone and macbook, and it also receives calls for me. Some history on the Apple watch is it was released in 2014 along with the iPhone 6. This was one of the first Apple products that was not designed by the creator of the iPhone. This device was released shortly after the passing of Apple's founder Steve Jobs. The overall reason behind the creation of the apple watch was to fulfill Steve Jobs goal of making their customers healthier by using technology to help monitor and track health related data points. The person that is directly involved with the making of the apple watch is now Tim Cook. I will assume that life for Mr.Cook is pretty well being as though his net worth is estimated to be 1.8 billion dollars. He also owns 837,000 shares in the Apple company. All in all this was my experience on making the familiar unfamiliar and the unfamiliar familiar by using the item Apple watch.
