On my hands and knees begging adults to allow children to engage in risk play.
And by risk play I don't mean handing them a gun and playing Russian Roulette.
I mean like climbing trees, getting so sick spinning on the swing they throw up, balancing on the curb, sitting in the mud, walking on slippery surfaces, building half ass ramps to ride their bike over, standing on rocks, or anything that involves a smidgen of confidence and out of the box thinking that could result in injury.
Obviously like watch your kids and such, but when we talk about the fun of being an 80s or 90s kid, it's not just talking about CDs and Walkmans or not having iPads. It's about how kids today were robbed of critical learning and experience skills we were allowed to have.
Playgrounds disappearing, helicopter parents, and sue culture really destroyed a child's development in the United States, and I think it's about time we as adults recognize that, because the kids sure have.

Autistic people often struggle to follow rules without understanding the specifics of the rules or why the rules exist.
And neurotypical people often refuse to explain that. Ableism is part of the reason why, but it's also because authoritarianism relies on people not understanding the rules.
If every child was raised to understand the deep meaning of every rule and why the rule exists, then authoritarianism wouldn't stand a chance. Every child would know not only exactly how they're being abused but also they'd be able to perfectly explain why it's abusive.
Authoritarians want people to be clueless about why rules exist. They want to be allowed to do things while punishing others for doing the same thing. They never give a good reason because there isn't a good reason to give.

Not to go "if you have ADHD just go for a run" or anything, but I am so serious if you have ADHD you should regularly go outside, no headphones no phone no nothing and just stand and observe for a while until you've had enough. Not until you get bored, until you've had enough. Drink your coffee without watching tiktok. Have a bath without music. Turn down the volume in your headphones. I cannot overstate how much learning to be bored is cruicial with ADHD. Life is not just about pleasure, no matter what your dysregulated dopamine system thinks, and when you teach your brain to be okay with being bored, then boring tasks stop feeling like torture. By letting yourself be bored you are yoinking your system out of the high/low binary and allow for the highs to feel like actual highs and not just anything that isn't low. I am so serious go literally touch grass. Listen to the sounds in your flat. Stimulate your body the way it was designed. It lowers anxiety and makes you feel like you're real and best of all it's completely free

If you have a stockpile you are an addict
Btw you have to refill on the same day you run out of medication
Btw you will have seizures and possibly die if you miss your medication
Btw the pharmacy will not order your medication in advance of the one day you are allowed to call and refill it
But you are an addict who should be criminalized if you have a few days stockpiled so you don’t have a seizure and die.
This is a normal way to treat disabled people who need medication that keeps them from dying.

the first law of tragedies: the end is already written and inevitable. the second law of tragedies: your actions are all your own and you can choose to get off this ride whenever you want. the third law of tragedies: we both know that you are never going to do that.

Having a straight up halo for Garak seemed… entirely inappropriate. so he gets a skewed halo. I also cast him in shadow. PATRON SAINT OF LIARS AND PATRIOTS
goes with my other STAR TREK HALOS (so far only ds9-ers no one is shocked)

So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????
I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.
Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?
