Day Dreaming/[El Ensueño]
1931
Gelatin silver print
Girl leaning on the railing day dreaming. I feel like it means you just need a moment to get away from the real world.

The Daughter of the Dancers  (La hija de los danzantes)
1933
Silver Gelatin Photograph 9.75 x 7 in
I feel like this picture is representing the present looking into the future. The future being the dark hole because you never know what it holds.

Manuel Alvarez Bravo
February 4, 1902 - October 19, 2002
Born in Mexico City, Mexico
“A photographer's main instrument is his eyes. Strange as it may seem, many photographers choose to use the eyes of another photographer, past or present, instead of their own. Those photographers are blind.”
He was the first Mexican photographer to take a strong stand on anti-picturesque position, in order to avoid stereotyping Mexico's variety of cultures.
Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, and photographers from abroad such as Paul Strand, Edward Westin, Tina Modotti, and Henri Cartier-Bresson with these relationships and influences brought a strong modern feel to his photographs which he combined with a sense of the Mexican spirit.
In 1959 he became a co-founder of the Fondo Editorial de la Plástica Mexicana along with Gabriel Figueroa, Leopoldo Méndez, Carlos Pellicer and Rafael Carrillo; it produced books on Mexican art.

Buffalo Heart Wing
This is a bad photo because the lighting is bad. There is a shadow on the main subject and too much going on in the background.

Mushrooms Meeting
I see this as a good photo. It was taken on an overcast day and the colors came out bold and you can see the details.
