The Spa Concierge is responsible for the reception area at the spa and assisting the entire team with the day-to-day operations.

Properly open and close spa each day according to Standard Operating Procedures. Accurately book, change and cancel spa appointments. Utilize spa computers with skill and proficiency.* Acknowledge and greet everyone who enters and leaves spa facilities. Provide detailed descriptions of spa treatments, packages, services, facility features and hours of operation. Maintain a Spa Desk Bank. Answer the phone promptly and use the guest’s name throughout the phone conversation. Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.* Issue spa lockers, robes and slippers to guests and then escort guests to their lockers. Provide orientation tour, explaining spa amenities offered and answering guests’ questions.* Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized spa environment through consistent monitoring of the locker/facility area. Stock locker room supplies and amenities and maintain accurate supply lists and inventory sheets.* Assist team in ensuring cleanliness of front of house and back of house areas, as well as assist in  restocking and organization of the facility where needed.* Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa. Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.* Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.* Regularly crosscheck physical inventory with computer inventory to manage/avoid shrinkage and to ensure appropriate inventories are available. ·        Consult all clients to perform advanced colour/highlight techniques, cutting with shears, razor and clippers

·        Drive to some clients’ homes to perform the job duties

Requirements

-Education: Some secondary school education is required.

-Experience: Having trade certification for hairstylist or be willing to obtain one is required. Completion of a two or three-year hairstyling apprenticeship program or completion of a college or other program in hairstyling combined with on-the-job training or several years of experience are required to become certified.

-Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Manual dexterity, Combination of sitting, standing walking, Standing for extended periods.

-Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication, Reliability, Flexibility, Team player, Effective interpersonal skills, Client focus, Dependability, Judgement, Ability to multitask

-Hair colouring techniques: Bleach, Dyes/tints, Frosting, Streaking/highlights

-Hair styling techniques: Blow drying, Hair braiding, Iron waving/curling

Salary: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour, 30-40 hours per week.

  Important information:

This position requires flexibility in schedule. The employee is required to work 6-8 hours per day. We operate 5 days per week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Thursdays from 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Fridays from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The employee will always work a minimum of 30 hours per week. Weekend work is required. The schedule may be adjusted due to the government’s policies on Covid-19.
