BACK IN THE SADDLE. After pursing physical therapy more diligently, my arm is doing a lot better, and I'm reintroducing making art back into my routine. I'd also like to use this opportunity to reintroduce myself. I'm going to start phasing out my old username this year.
Hello, my name is Wayne!

A happy winter solstice and Yule to you, and the sugar scuttle full of weasels that I'm sure we all have.

A little treat since I’ve received a follower influx - a lineup for the first Greenbrier story I have drafted. Whirly visits the fledgling warren founded by his estranged daughter's mysterious husband, and becomes entangled in his severe but talented grandchild Melachodim's pursuit of truth.

Thank you tumblrites for your support and kind words this year. Rather than doing it month by month, here are 12 of my favorite pieces/pieces I learned the most from this year. I don’t really feel like my progress is linear so dividing it month by month isn’t super helpful to me. My personal life these past two months has been super whack, I made a job change and lost a family member, so nuts to 2021. Onward to 2022 and working on my big projects at my own pace. And also mice.

I’ve made my little statement on twitter where I feel like it’s more relevant since it moves a mile a minute, but worth mentioning here too. A-hem heem.
I think that this has been evident for most of this year, but making it official is going to give me some peace of mind: I going on a hiatus from publicly posting art for at least until the end of the year, but possibly longer. I’ll still upload stuff to patreon and put stuff on my private twitter at my discretion.
I won't mince words, this year has majorly sucked shit. I'm in a constant struggle with my RSI. I lost a lot of confidence when I put aside my last project, and have been struggling with my current one. I think I need private space to let it grow in its own time.
My personal life is in a state of major change, some good and some really awful, and it’s better for me to just give it my focus and chalk 2021 up as being a sludge year & look forward to the next one. If you want to keep closer tabs on me, check out my patreon.
Thank you anyone who has given me support and likes/comments on my stuff. Have some happy winter holidays. Kiss your grandmas. Be excellent to each other. Watch a fucked up movie. Etc.

"READY OR NOT...HERE I COME." I spent this Halloween afternoon casually coloring some seasonally appropriate pencils done by my boyf, @/themostdarned (he doesn’t really use tumblr anymores), of his character, Hollow, a very bad scarecrow and god of fear.
Kinda refreshing to just have to worry about colors and nothin else. Background element is a mostly non scary picture I took in Pioneer Town, Joshua Tree, that just so happens to ominously read "FEED".

Hey this guy never did end up sellin, and honestly I also never ended up using him in the year or so that I decided to “keep” him, so I’m putting him back up for sale at a discount. He is now 60.00USD.

Howdy, this lil western banded gecko inspired kobold bard is looking for someone to adopt him for marvelous DnD adventures! Marty is adoptable for 80.00 USD, payable via paypal invoice and consent to my TOS (link in thread). PM if interested.
My partner and I are in a “shelter in place” county during a financially sensitive time, so the extra $ would be very much appreciated. Consider a reblog to help us out! My terms of service. Availability under the cut.

A small infographic/style guide of sorts for the Greenbrier mice, to be used as a guideline for future designs.

I’ve honestly been struggling pretty bad with my mental and physical health this summer and an unfortunate side effect of that is that drawing hasn’t really been making me happy, so I haven’t been doing much of it. But I’m trying to get back up on the horse even if it keeps kicking me off, and if you subscribe to my patreon, there’s early access of a fun little mouse-related thing I want to put feelers out for in the next couple of days. Give ‘er a look if you’re a subscriber.

Couple of fellas I did for a supplementary Dungeons and Dragons book by @mindsnot, a frost themed tiefling druid and a rabbitfolk monk. I used this opportunity to nail down how I want to stylize eyes on rabbit characters going forward.

THE CHRISTENING OF SISTER MOUSE. An exploration on kinds of headgear for the Greenbrier mice, prominently featuring proboscidea spicata. A mouse's cowl is an essential part of their identity, and made from an object foraged from their local environment.

I've just stumbled in on your Greenbrier world (most specifically the deities) and I wanted to say you've piqued my interest, especially the way you've given the characters their own unique style and personality just in their designs! Really looking forward to seeing more on it
Well hey, thank you for taking the time to tell me you're diggin' it! Always cool to get messages like this, I don't get em very often. I'm working on making some comic material for it over the summer.

I don't usually enjoy doing fanart but the mood struck me when I picked up Risk of Rain II, I played the original a lot a few years back. Here's my somewhat more primate flavored take on Acrid.

Wybjorn's Threnghelleon divinity, the light in his chest that anchors him to his identity, provides him with the powers of the aspiration domain and mastery over his physical form, has been forcibly stripped from him to feed a nefarious, occult machine. This has returned him to a similar state as when he was an effigy, but the mosaic of divine magic that freed him from Ethem-Cailo's influence still makes him something much more than stone.  One thing is certain, whether he chooses to nurture the strange energy that lingers within him to become something new or reclaim his former glory from that which stole his light: there is suffering ahead.
Pose referenced from the statue "Marble Statue of a Wounded Amazon", a Roman statue from 1st-2nd century AD.

BLACK COAT, QUEEN OF CATS, is a peculiar entity with godlike magical powers, to the extent that she is sometimes worshipped as “the fifth divine”, Beldvhair of the Pine, Goddess of Old Magic and Mischief. While Melphinlay is the progenitor of the art of alchemy, the deriving of unworldly effects from plants and minerals, Black Coat possesses all knowledge of the elder world’s witchcraft, and has deigned to pass it on to the Lapinine. She personally ties the souls of all familiars to their patron witch, the final ritual before being officially inducted into her fold.
Unlike other regents in the Monarchy of Beasts, Black Coat delights the tenacity of mortals and welcomes them into her brood should they seek her out, to be taught the ancient ways of witchcraft. It is her belief that the presence of a trickster, someone who keeps all other on their toes, cannot be bought with ballots or gold and can bow even the haughtiest head, is a necessary equalizer in any society. And she’s all too happy to fill that niche, but it has made her few friends in the Monarchy, who have mostly rejected her for her love of the Lapinine people and her own rejection of their sense of superiority and bureaucracy. She keeps the title of Queen more as a mockery than anything else, and rejects all things that glitter for her crown of pine boughs and her own pursuit of power and pleasure.
She is not whatever the Aldervolk are, nor is she of the Lapinine. If asked, she would merely insist that she is a cat.
