Zachary winced as the man explained what had happened. He felt some second hand embarrassment for him. He didn't make it a habit of setting up any meetings for that reason. He may have been in the bar scene given his line of work but that didn't mean that he was all that social. He glanced around for a moment as he contemplated how to respond.
"I don't generally pay too much attention to what's happening around the bar. It's a little easier to focus on what I'm doing, kinda get in my own little world." He explained, hoping it didn't make him sound like too much of an asshole. "I just mean there's always a lot going on around the bar, it can be a big distraction if too much attention is given to it when I need to be focused on what I'm going to play."

The night had been going smoothly so far. The lounge was busy, meaning there was plenty of money flowing in. Zachary had enjoyed being at the piano and the customers had seemed to enjoy it as well. He had made plenty of tips tonight. It left the man in a good mood. It was made even better by the fact that no one seemed to recognize him, the connection to the family name not present for once. He made his way to the bar during a break in the seat for a drink, stretching out to relax between. Standing at the bar, he could see a man out of the corner of his eye, one that looked a little frustrated. It was a little out of place for the atmosphere of the evening. Deciding that he felt a little bold, he paid the bar tender for the man's drink.

Zachary was a little surprised that the man came and sat beside him, judging from the mood he seemed to be in. He sipped his own drink, making sure not to go at the alcohol too hard since he still had some singing to do. A small smile came to his lips and he turned his attention fully to the man beside him. There was no reason why he couldn't engage in conversation. He was riding a high and didn't feel quite as shy as he normally would.
"Thank you." He started with, finding himself at ease with the man, something that was unusual. "Surprisingly, it's really not something I hear too often. I think people think guys like me are a dime a dozen in the city. They have different faces in and out every night so it's hard to make yourself stand out." He shrugged it off. He was living off of the money he made so it was nice to hear and see the results in as well.
"What brought you here tonight?" He tried not to judge but the man beside him didn't seem to be the sort that would really enjoy jazz or anything that Zachary typically performed.
