IF YOU LIVE IN THE US, PLEASE READ THIS
Posting this from the bird app since I hope it can help people.
People have been contacting the White House directly to demand a recount, especially since there has been evidence that not every ballot has been counted and will be thrown away if it hasn't been cured.
The link to contact the White House is here!
The following screenshot comes from here!

If you need help writing something, check under the cut! I've provided a prewritten response from one of the replies!
"I am a concerned citizen, and I need you to hear me. I urge you to recount the ballots from this election and investigate election interference. Bomb threats have been called into multiple polling locations, causing some to close early. Domestic terrorists have burned ballot boxes. An unprecedented number of ballots have been rejected and require curing. There have been reports of polling officers allowing voter intimidation in and outside of polling places across the country and an estimated 20 million mail in ballots are unaccounted for. In addition, many people have reported that ballots were not counted for suspicious reasons such as signature invalidation which is information that vote counters do not have access to. These events have occurred in swing states such as Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Georgia, for instance."
Feel free to add and change what you want, this is just a base for you to work off of.

Do y’all ever think about how absolutely bananas Lake Baikal is? It’s the world’s largest lake by volume. It’s the world’s deepest lake. It’s the world’s oldest lake. It contains nearly a quarter of the planet’s surface freshwater. It’s a rift lake, caused by the earth’s crust literally coming apart at the seams. It would be deeper than the Mariana Trench except the bottom is covered in a sediment layer that is miles deep. There are trains that have sunk to the bottom because Russia tried to build a railroad over the ice. The entire lake surface freezes for half the year. The lake is a focal point of multiple indigenous cultures. The lake has its own species of seal, which is the only exclusively freshwater pinniped in the world. There are unique ice formations formed by convection from the depths of the lake. There are 330 inflowing rivers.
I dunno, Lake Baikal sure is a thing.

wait do people read first person stories and think they're the ones in the story???
Saw people talking about not liking first person, which is fair, but their reasoning was like "I would not do that" and I don't understand that mindset.
First person stories are still about a character. A character making their own decisions. First person isn't about you???? At least I thought it wasn't. What am I missing? I've always seen first person as just a more in-depth look into a character's mind and stricter POV. Not as a reader stand-in.

I offered to give the florist a hand with her deliveries again, like I did on Mother's Day, and doing it on All Saints' Day was a different and quieter experience; I liked it. The florist's husband and I went around putting flowers on graves in various local graveyards for people who don't live nearby and can't visit the graves themselves; sometimes we had a graveyard map and the right grave was marked with a little X, so there was an interesting treasure hunt aspect to it. Sometimes there was no map, only indications given by the customer. The customer is not very good at giving indications. When you're looking for the grave of someone named Bernard and your post-it note says it's the first grave on the left when you enter, but this grave says 'To my beloved grandmother', you just have to trust your instinct telling you that Bernard is elsewhere.
Another person indicated that there was a statue of a rooster near their relative's grave, but my earnest rooster search turned up nothing. (Me: "Is it possible that they mistook a real rooster for a statue?" Florist's husband: "Everything is possible.") Another level of difficulty was a village graveyard where almost everyone had the same last name, and there were several Jeannes. (Florist's husband: "Are there any other indications?" Me: "Yes. The note says the tombstone is made of grey stone." "(deep sigh)" Me: "These Jeannes already have some flowers—should I give the flowers to the Jeanne who doesn't have any?" "That's not how it works.") (😔)
But all in all delivering flowers in rural graveyards on behalf of faraway relatives of the deceased is a picturesque and peaceful activity, and you can discover interesting old-timey names. I was telling a friend earlier that doing this full-time was possibly my dream job: you get to be alone but feel close to humanity; it's calm and gives you time to think, and it's the right amount of challenging (to find Bernard). Too bad it's only really needed on All Saints' Day. I don't like driving but I could picture myself walking around with my donkey carrying baskets of flowers, going from village to village, being greeted like an old friend by graveyard cats. Crossing villages by foot involves a daunting amount of small talk—so I would travel & work at night. On nights when there are no flowers to deliver I would be content to skulk around my graveyards, waiting to be summoned. (My friend, clarifying: "Your dream job is 'nice ghoul.'")
