Coming in Tumblr so I can vent anonymously but for my school we're having a day where we need to either job shadow or college visit right. Ok so I want to job shadow aka watch some one work so I can learn from them. I get an email address of a real person and BOOM next day response. But when we can't match our schedules up i have to find someone else, and all I can find is company emails that they expect clients to contact them through, if they have an email address at all. Some say a response will be written in 24 hours, so why am I sitting here, days later, with ZERO responces despite emailing several companies?

Istg it's like why the hell would you ghost me when you could reject me in 1 sentence? I'd rather have a definite no then be waiting for a response that will never come. Im legit heated about this and am going to explode. It's like they sence that I'm not a client so they cant profit off me, and don't respond.

Technically I could call them, but guess what? I'm fucking booked. How the hell am I meant to call someone working a 9-5 when I'm in school till like 3, and I'm doing sports/club from 3-5? I'm not allowed to take my phone out during sports practice. It feels like job shadowing is just meant to set up those who already have industry connections and disadvantage those who don't.

I dreamt that people found out that tumblr posts had a secret hidden text field that you normally couldn't put anything into that was called a post's "wungle text", and it wasn't normally displayed in any way, but someone made a browser extension that allowed you to write and view a post's wungle by flipping it over like an index card. The user's picture and name and all that would be backwards, but the wungle post looked otherwise like a normal post, though empty unless the author had written something in there. It worked in reblogs too.

People were using it for jokes, and a bunch of seemingly boring and innocuous posts got really popular with funny wungle sides.

Some people don’t want to hear this but sometimes accessibility is not sustainable or eco-friendly. Disabled people sometimes need straws, or pre-made meals in plastic containers, or single-use items. Just because you can work with your foods in their least processed and packaged form doesn’t mean everyone else can.

Another fun thing I do with customers - specifically parents of very small children who don’t know they’re alive yet - is directly imply I think the coffee is for the baby, not the parent. and lemme tell you, like 70% of parents eat that shit up. They immediately go along with the bit and start discussing it with their newborn child, while the baby just stares at us like 😮
