❝I can’t stop you from going back. I have nothing but myself to offer you.’ He pauses, and she can hear a deep sigh on the other end. ‘For years, I have been comparing every girl I have ever met with you…Fuck!❞

My next book, Mercury, is coming out this September!
Aboard the colony ship, Mercury, 19-year-old Lucy yearns to know more about her deceased father, much to the ire of her mother, the captain.
When a mysterious meteor strands Lucy twenty years in the past, she finds herself face-to-face with her teenage mother and realizes they may have more in common than she originally thought.
As rifts in space threaten to destroy the Mercury, Lucy looks for a way to save the ship and, with any luck, get back to her own time.
I'm hosting a Goodreads giveaway until June 30th if you want to win an advance copy!

ETERNALLY SINGLE, ROSA ÁLVAREZ - NEERJA PAWAR
EXCERPT FROM CHAPTER 7
Rosa ambled towards the beige building, pondering upon what Manuel had said. She had decided to walk to work, since the weather had seemed just right. She regretted it now as the sun beat down on her, as if to drive home a point. Manuel was right. Of course, he was right.
Had she lost sight of why she began doing this in the first place? Was she, deep down, embarrassed? She shouldn’t care what anyone thought, but it was so hard not to when the “anyone” were her parents. Was it a difficult subject to bring up? Yes. Had she dug herself into a deep hole with all her little white lies? Sure. But was it because she was embarrassed of her job? Surely not. They would be embarrassed of her job, a little voice whispered in her head. She was doing this for them.
She took a deep determined breath. Right, she was going to do her best to put this out of her mind and focus on why she started doing this in the first place—to help others. It wasn’t about her.
The newly formed logic flew out of her head the very next moment when she saw a familiar face from her past standing right outside her office building. Not Juan, no, although she would much rather it was him. This athleisure-toting gangly girl looked like Jadalyn Perez, an ex-classmate from her former high school and an all-around nuisance for the “girls support girls” movement. Last Rosa heard, she’d officially changed her name to Jaydn, because it “fit her vibe better”. It seemed she hadn’t aged a day past sixteen, and not in a good way. The same tiger blond highlights framed her face that seemed to permanently sneer at the world. A face that, alarmingly, flickered with recognition as it looked right at her.
‘Rosa? Oh my God, Rosa!’ Jaydn squealed.
What in the fresh hell? Was everyone from her town visiting LA?! Not that she had a problem with general tourism, but Jaydn wasn’t just any ex-classmate. She was the town blabbermouth. Once, when they were twelve, Rosa had told Jaydn about her Cabbage Patch boyfriend Dean Smith. The next day, the whole school was calling her Mrs. Smith and drawing caricatures of Angelina Jolie as a Cabbage Patch doll and leaving them in her locker. She didn’t live down the name for years.
Rosa’s flight instinct kicked in and she ducked into the nearest building. She hurried across the lobby—a swanky, shiny place sporting a behemoth chandelier—looking over her shoulder to see if Jaydn was following. She vaguely remembered the building being some kind of production company, but couldn’t spot a sign around. She’d just find a bathroom in the lobby and camp out there until the coast was clear. She looked back again, unable to spot the startling blonde, and smacked right into a broad, intoxicatingly perfumed chest.
‘Oh fuck, watch where you’re going!’ a deep voice complained, and Rosa looked up to see light brown eyes laced with annoyance.
‘Sorry! I—’ She stopped midway as she spotted Jaydn entering the building. Rosa frantically looked around for some sort of escape and saw the turnstiles to enter the main building, but she didn’t have a company keycard to access it. She couldn’t possibly exit through the same gate without being noticed by Jaydn. There were no exits within reach, but she could see one on the far right corner. Maybe she could make a run for it. But she could see Jaydn charging at her, and it was too late to try to run away without raising suspicion. Her stomach sank as she realised: she was trapped in the lobby.
The annoyed man was staring at her, expecting a response or apology. But when she just whipped around a few times, looking like she’d done one too many shrooms, he turned to leave.
‘Wait! Hold on!’ She grabbed his arm desperately, then lowered her voice. ‘Okay, I know I’m probably the last person you want to help right now, but I need you to pretend like you know me.’
‘What?’ The man looked utterly confused.
‘Just pretend like you know me!’
He raked his hands through his thick hair, getting more annoyed by the minute. ‘Hold on, is this some fake boyfriend romcom bullshit? Listen lady, I’ve seen enough of those—’
Rosa cut him off, ‘No! Ew!’ She quickly checked herself. ‘I mean, I’m sure any girl would be lucky to have you. Or guy.’ Although, he’d be wasted on a man, she thought, a flush creeping up her neck. Easily over six feet tall, with a pleasantly asymmetrical face and thick brown hair, the man had every right to be offended. But Rosa didn’t have the time to stroke his damn ego. Jaydn was less than twenty feet away. Rosa got straight to the point. ‘Listen, I’m desperate. Please, just pretend we’re colleagues. There’s someone here who can’t really know why I’m here and here she comes—Hey, Jaydn!’ Rosa greeted her as if she had just spotted her.
‘The famous Rosa Álvarez! It’s so good to see you! I thought I lost you in the crowd. Didn’t you hear me earlier?’ Jaydn said as she gave her an awkward side-hug.
‘Earlier? When?’ Rosa frowned, looking utterly clueless. ‘I’m sorry I was in such a rush to meet my colleague.’ She turned to the tall man beside her, hoping to God he was on board.
A beat of silence passed between them, and Rosa held her breath, feeling about ready to pass out when—‘Samuel Jackson,’ he smiled politely, extending his hand.
