Ferret Chiropractor

Sometimes, chiropractors do wonderful things. We took our ferret Angelina in to find out why she was making these wet swallow sounds. They took a few x-rays…

On the far left, the very first vertebra you see, with the spike pointing down? NOT supposed to be like that. Her vertebra was TWISTED somehow, and the second one isn’t set into it right. That spike was pressing into her trachea and causing that wet swallow.

So on the vet’s recommendation, we took her to a chiropractor. He was licensed for dogs and horses and had worked with ferrets before, so the hour and a half drive was a no-brainer, since this was my girl’s SPINE. He made two quick adjustments, handed her back and said we should see immediate improvement but may need another adjustment or two.

Two weeks later, here’s her new x-ray.

SO MUCH BETTER. The spike is all but gone. She still has some swelling there but hopefully it will go down on its own. So yay! Proof positive that chiropractors do work, even for pets!
