Hey... Do you know the song sung by the voice actor from the pilot Hazbin Hotel? Called Thank you and goodnight. Weirdly this song reminds me of Mystic Messenger, despite being a new fan and having been into this game until this year 2024 I already felt a connection, seeing old posts about this game from an old fan somehow makes me tear up. Despite I'm a fan of 2024, I somehow feel nostalgic about this game despite never actually experience it before

It's a farewell song, so I can see how if you were interested in both media at the same time, you might make this sort of connection. I understand how the ending of Mysme might give you similar vibes, but ultimately, there's an end to every story.

You're probably not interested in this paragraph, but I would like to say that I have mixed feelings about Hazbin Hotel. I don't think it's entirely terrible, and there is a lot of enjoyment to be gained from it (I like quite a few of the songs and character designs), but I do think there are issues especially when it comes to its sincerity of its portrayal of minorities. Also, the art style is highly reminiscent of 90s goth art aesthetic (think artists such as Jhonen Vasquez and Tim Burton), which was born out of the "heroin chic" glamorization of thinness (and whiteness) above all else. As an artist who used to use this art style myself, I can tell you that I was not well when I was drawing like this. I was actively struggling with body dysmorphia and disorded eating as a result of my idolization of thin bodies. That isn't to say that we should shame people who use this art style, but rather we should question how healthy it is to internalize this "aesthetic."

With that aside, I'm glad you're getting to enjoy Mysme now. I got into it when the game first came out back in 2016. I played it throughout college, my first job, and my first love. I've since graduated from college, gotten my license and my first car, and gotten into a relationship with an amazing girl who I am fairly certain I am going to marry some day. I've become more and more noticeably disabled as a result of a genetic condition as well as the consequences of my history of disordered eating. When I started playing this game, I could walk for miles with no issues. Now I'm in pain within minutes.

Life is full of beginnings and endings. Enjoy what you have while you have it, but also look forward to what is yet to come. You will face many endings throughout your life, some you will greet with despair, others with relief. Mysme got me through some very difficult times, and I hope it will do the same for you.
