Mirror Universe/tarot card tattoo concept.
Inspired by that scene of mirror Paul with his sword at his performance/unveiling for the Emperor.
I'll have to ask my tattoo artist if this is even fit for being tattooed and I might get it one day.

sometimes you just have to sob over the martian film at its depiction of human nature and the nature of science and spaceflight. ITS ABOUT THE LOVE AND KINDNESS AND CARING FOR A SINGLE HUMAN LIFE.

The only other slight complaint I have about The Martian film is the women astronauts… By the end I totally love them as characters, but it takes me a minute to adjust to them in my mind. It’s just… you’ve been in space HUNDREDS of days, with no one to look at you but the same four other people. WHY are you wearing makeup. Making sure your hair looks nice. Why do they have to look perfect at all times. I’ve met one female astronaut and read up on and listened to interviews with many more, and they are such strong people (astronauts generally are) it’s incredible. The women in The Martian could’ve done with the “write them as men then just switch the pronouns” treatment or something. Idk.

One of the very very very few complaints I have about The Martian is that -
it’s such a uniting force, the effort to save Watney. A huge collaboration between the US and Chinese space agencies in their work on the rescue, as well as possibly the European, Canadian, Japanese, and Russian space agencies (maybe more!) to build the Hermes (there’s no way one agency could build a ship like that on its own). Everyone with access to world news is following this story. It’s a rescue to save a human life. AND YET. It’s fucking AMERICAN FLAGS they wave (only the Americans mind you, everyone else shown doesn’t get to wave any flags). It’s heralded as a success for the AMERICAN space agency. AMERICAN spaceflight. THE WHOLE WORLD WAS INVOLVED MAN. THIS IS ABOUT HUMANITY, NOT ANY ONE COUNTRY. This isn’t really that big a complaint about The Martian per se, but when basically every film in genre does this, you’d hope that one like The Martian would be able to look past US propaganda shit.

it seems like the key theme of fungus is that they eat everything including things otherwise impossible to eat, they get everywhere with their tiny spores, and they grow and be happy wherever it is wet by eating the surroundings. So if get inside your body (wet) they eat you. so your two main options for being a multicellular organism are developing an immune system (most animals) or hiring other fungus to beat the shit out of the fungus that gets inside your body (most plants)
