A detail I kinda loved about the season is how Ben and Devi were an important tool for them to get into the college of their dreams. Devi by giving him her shirt so he could go tak to the Columbia rep, calling him out for dropping his grades and helping him. Ben encouraging Devi and telling her she needs to send that essay for Princeton because then she’ll regret not doing everything she can because she is not a quitter.
In a way, a thing I’ve always loved about their dynamic is that they both understand that drive of being successful and academic while others don’t seem to get it. Ben not sugar coating the Princeton situation and being like “yeah, it sucks and I get it and I’ll probably be worst if I were you.” and telling her yes, being referred is awful and that being exactly what Devi wanted to hear and feeling validated. You know they’ll be the type to make themselves be the best they can be. After all, they’re two overachieving nerds that want to be successful and that’s hot.

There were SO many beautiful Ben and Devi moments this season but Devi taking a pic of Equatorial Guinea was the moment I lost it and started sobbing.
It was the moment when they both knew (consciously or subconsciously) that something had changed between them. 12 years of knowing each other. One moment.

guys ben was there for devi and pushed her because he knew her and he knew that she would regret not going after princeton and not being with her mom when they were spreading the ashes and he just knows her and he accepts her for who she is and he makes her be the best version of herself and benvi is just so beautiful

That sequence from Ben’s love confession to the ride to Ben’s room with Fade Into You in the background was simply cinematic. But that shot of Devi’s menhdi hands on Ben’s back and just her wearing a saree does so much for the narrative. It brings Devi back to full circle from wanting sex for other reasons and not feeling yet comfortable in her own skin or her culture to being in a very intimate moment with the boy she loves and highlighting the expressions of her own culture. It was just so beautiful.

ben saying he can do long distance in s2 and that he has a private jet, then flying all the way from new york in s4 just to tell devi he's in love with her
and THEN them deciding to be together because the distance between princeton and columbia is far but not too far for them
yeah. i felt that
