maybe having a clashing identity is good for you because it prevents you from coming to a theoretical understanding of the world frictionlessly and makes you actually deliberate instead of acting out a neat social role that fails to see its specialized norms as such rather than general procedural rules

every progressive lib vid analyzing conservative thought nowadays is like "first, The Greatest Generation saved the world from Hitler and Stalin, then created an unspoilt paradise in the form of Suburban 1950's USA, only to be ruined when The Great Satan Regan passed the USA Is A Bad Country Law, turning the USA into a bad country for the first time."

"We must be bilingual even in a single language, we must have a minor language inside our own language, we must create a minor use of our own language…speaking in one's own language like a foreigner…That is the definition of style."

There is an occ-pier, and an occ-pied. There's a colonizer, and the colonized. The Land Owners and the thieves. It's not complicated.

my mythology pet peeve is when someone describes a scenario in which they keep nearly getting something and then having it snatched away, and everyone's like "one must imagine sisyphus" no!!! one must imagine TANTALUS!!! sisyphus = being made to perform a pointless, aggravating task over and over without ever making any progress. tantalus = being offered a glorious reward only for it to vanish as soon as you reach for it. they are NOT the same

A point Baudrillard understated in the '90s is the extent to which, in the wars of the future, even the locations would be made virtual. Gaza, Beirut, Tehran - these may as well be Call of Duty maps for the way that media and states construct them in public consciousness. Their history and their importance as the hearts of complex, living communities is airbrushed to fit the prefabricated image of 'terrorist locale'. They become simply a more graphically-detailed 'de_dust' for the mass deployment of US-produced munitions. No people, just menacing pixels to be erased.
