dear usamerican high schoolers looking for a way to resist fascism: sit through the pledge of allegiance.

everyone will be looking at you. you'll be sweating like a fucking hippopotamus. your teacher will sternly tell you to get up. you'll feel stupid and that maybe its not worth it because you're just a kid in a classroom. but I'm here to remind you that there are no real life consequences to detention. there are however real life consequences to resisting a thoughtless performance of nationalism.

my roommates and i are cat sitting for a friend while they’re out of town and i cannot emphasize how much i love having a cat in my house again. there’s just a little guy hanging out with us. a little dude just straight up existing. a tiny little creature vibing in our space.

“The show is promoting itself”. I don’t have an outside point of view of this but it does seem that Idwtbamg is quite popular, despite not even having a pilot. Just pure “mouth to hear” promotion. Any thought on the reception ?

i'm super stoked!! i'm lucky that i've built up the following i have thus far which definitely helps in promoting my own work haha. similar with the hanamusa/jessie x delia stuff. the ship existed before i was drawing it but i think my following (and insane amount of hours i dumped into making comics) helped popularize it/break containment

as much as having an audience helps i do hope that people do also find the concept genuinely appealing and my execution to be engaging and fun~

i also did notice an uptick in interest when i announced the cast! i think a lot of people were surprised with the talent i was able to get (i am too tbh) especially when most people were under the impression that this was just a silly concept or at most a storyboard sample that i was doing by myself. got some serious a-list VAs and also legends in the magical girl genre

all that said, i'm really happy with the reception so far and i hope people like my silly little pilot~

Honestly, sometimes you need to do manic pixie dream girl shit as a fully 29-year-old man and it's literally okay. I still buy those little perforated Valentines they make for kids to give to each other at school and keep them in my pocket to hand out to cashiers and strangers the first two weeks of February, and it does not matter at all if people think I'm annoying for doing it because I could easily kill myself instead. Take it easy, keep it sleazy.

i still remember the time i admitted to my mom that i had only recently realized that our childhood home only had one bedroom, and that was why she slept on the couch, and that she didn't actually prefer the couch. only to have her say, "no i think couches are better" and then when she dumped her shitty boyfriend she got rid of her bed and put a sectional in her bedroom.

I adopted a very shy cat today who mostly hid at the shelter. Both the staff and I agreed that she'd probably need a lot of time to feel safe and start being social. This was her 5 hours after we got home.
