They couldn't have done a beach episode of Supernatural because there's no way Dean wouldn't have insisted that Cas has to take off his suit and wear swim shorts to "blend in" and Dean has to lend him a pair of his own and then he stares at him like he's water in a desert when he does the whole "how do I look?" thing while Dean's overcompensating for having his entire mind blown to pieces by all the bare skin by loudly saying some silly pop culture reference thinking he's showing that he's having a totally normal reaction to this totally normal thing happening even though Sam is next to him like ? Are you okay???

not saying anything new here but destiel dating would just look like heightened physical affection, they already love to touch each other and if they stopped holding themselves back it would be 24/7 holding onto each other more frequently to steady themselves, exchanging weapons in battle and fighting more fluidly (metaphor for how they fuck now), hugging for longer after close calls (dean pressing relieved kisses into cas' shoulder and neck when he is overwhelmed by concern), hand cradling the face quick kiss on the lips when they have to part ways, Not parting ways very often anymore because they really can't tolerate the absence now and they demand the right to die together; dean feels even more comfortable resting his eyes around cas, leans against him fully lights out snoring when they're on stakeouts because cas Will rudely awake him when needed; cas feels even more comfortable manhandling dean and pushing him around when he is wasting time chatting instead of getting a move on; when they're mad maybe they still shove each other and grab each other by the arms hard enough to hurt but now they stop letting go; they sit on the same side of every table and some part of their bodies always has to be touching; movie night of course dean's legs are thrown over cas' lap, or cas lays against dean's chest while dean plays with his hair, and they are holding hands, and in the car their knees are touching, or dean has a hand on cas' knee or across the back of the seat; and dean pulls cas around by his coat which is the same as holding hands for them, and dean slides his arms around cas' waist under his coat when they hug, and i think 80% of their time behind closed doors is actually just cas giving dean back rubs, whenever they have a minute like theres just no way theyre not touching each other all the time forever after. the first few days of it are unsure like can we do this how are we allowed to do this... and then it feels like this is how they have always been. because mostly thats how they have always been

Then Mary giving Sam the doe-eyed “my heeeeeroooo!” routine? This doesn’t even sound like Mary. Also: I could be wrong, but generally I think she tends to call Dean Dean, not “your brother.”

Maybe… this is a Sam fantasy where everyone is “wholesomely” dogpiling Dean for “childish” behavior (except when Cas “spoils” him by sliding over the pizza box ofc).

And in this dream, Mary sees Sam as more the “adult” of the two. The dependable one. The responsible one who helps her clear the dishes. Dean is “your brother,” and almost feels like an oafish sidekick.

Sam is not at the kids’ table here in the dreamworld.

But Dean is, kinda? Symbolically.
