Niantic (the people that created the augmented reality game Ingress) and Nintendo/The Pokemon Company have teamed up for a Pokemon game unlike anything you’ve seen yet:

Pokemon Go.

An augmented reality Pokemon game where you explore the real world to discover, capture, battle, and trade Pokemon with other people.

Pokemon Go will also have a peripheral available in the form of a Pokeball shaped wrist device (developed by Nintendo) that will rumble and light up when you get near the location of a Pokemon out in the open. This way you aren’t required to constantly be staring at your phone to enjoy the game.

Pokemon Go is scheduled for launch in 2016.
