(100 Tuesday Tips book available on our online store) *NEW Tuesday Tips - One Sheet, One Pose This is specifically a Figure Drawing tip. It forces you to draw big and to draw from the shoulder with bold, long lines. Over time, you may gain more confidence and fluidity in your strokes. Additionally, drawing the whole figure (hands and feet) makes you think about weight distribution of the figure, since you have to plant the feet and/or hands somewhere. Bonus: over many sessions, it gets much easier to compare your progression. A 2 min pose in 2017 may look like a 5 min pose in 2018 if you work at it. Hopefully, this works for you. BTW, the ultimate secret to figure drawing is to just keep at it and make it a habit. -Norm #tuesdaytips #grizandnormtuesdaytips #onesheetonepose #grizandnorm #100tuesdaytips #tuesdaytipsvol2

OK fuck it, let’s break this shit down:
i’m a salty ass animation major and i’m gonna write a crash course/vent post on why the stills from this post are killing me slowly the longer i stare at them.
DISCLAIMER: I watched and loved both Mob Psycho 100 and Yuri!!! on Ice, yoi had some good rotoscoping and I love me some dance animation, but from a purely artistic and technical standpoint, mp100 deserved the award. I’m also still learning so bear with me as I try to explain my beef with this as an artist.
Now let’s start this: Exhibit A
This one is the only one that looks ok and will be our benchmark for the rest: Now we have to remember that all of these stills are taken while the figure is in motion, for those unfamiliar with animation, this is an important distinction because in order to convey the proper sense of speed and movement for an action, we usually need to exaggerate parts of the body in order to simulate motion blur. These frames are called “smears,” and are essential to the animation process, however, how abstract or off model the blur will be depends on the speed and fluidity of the movement.
Which is how we get stuff like this:
