I’ll be honest and say that while Isagi and Bachira’s dynamic in the first arc was cute, it wasn’t anything that stood out to me too much. It seemed like a very typical sports anime type relationship at first. The main character shoots. His friend is there for him and passes to him so he can shine. They have good chemistry. They achieve results together that would be un-imaginably amazing compared to when they were apart. We’ve seen it so many times before already. Kageyama and Hinata, Kuroko and Kagami, Mihashi and Abe; the list goes on.

That all stops when the second selection starts.

ok so we know about aomine punching haizaki for kise right and how impressive and dare I say, sweet, of aomine was when he did that

satsuki knows about it (because of course she does) and she tells kuroko about it (because again, of course she will)

important question is.....

does kise knows about it?

it makes me absolutely go insane at the fact that aomine punched someone for kise but kise doesn't fucking know about it

like it's the one big thing that showed us that aomine does care for kise and he does look after the yellow boy as much as the yellow boy look after him

aomine knows about kise looking up to him and somewhat wanting what's best for him but does kise know that aomine is feeling the exact same thing?!!

Day 4 - 1

okay so i finally got replace I & II a while back (they were the only ones i was missing lmao)

i flipped to the character intro page for each book and found these pictures of kise:

my first reaction was easily “damn out of all the pictures they could’ve chosen why did they pick these two???” because isn’t this expressionless person sporting such an empty, apathetic gaze who kise used to be, way back before his really shoujo manga-ish fateful meeting with aomine????? i was like “couldn’t they have chosen a better picture?” and out of curiosity, decided to check his pictures in replace III-VI (which i haven’t read in like 5 years 🗿)

this was his picture in III:

while he’s not smiling, his gaze is definitely not empty when compared to the pictures above. 🥺

and next we have IV-XI:

IV is just *uwu intensifies* *cuteness overload* *explodes in sheer bliss*

anyway, that bright, genuine smile in IV is exactly the one that made me love him so much in the first place 🥺🥺🥺 try looking at the first two pictures again; is anyone else a hard time wrapping your head around how they’re literally the same guy? 🥺🥺🥺

in that picture on the right, he’s not smiling as brightly, but he’s still smiling nonetheless — he went from always having this cold, indifferent expression to greeting everyone with a smile 🥺

now, i really don’t know if this was done on purpose, but somehow this change in picture choice managed to show how kise changed from someone who had no goal in life and was always a loner (yes, he had fans, but they were only drawn to his looks, and he was always shown to be alone during lunch and after school) before joining the team, to eventually falling in love with basketball and aominecchi, having real friends, and discovering new goals, as well as becoming someone who always smiles brightly from the heart in the presence of his friends and doesn’t face people with that cold exterior anymore (except for people he dislikes lol) 🥺🥺🥺

aaaaaaaa i just want to say that the ball that hit him at the back of his head is the best shot aomine made in the whole series — even better than those cool ass formless shots!!!!!!!!! 🥺🥺🥺 he definitely chucked it at the back of kise’s head on purpose i remember someone explaining it with physics

they just announced this new café collab on twitter (god what i would give to go 😭) kuroko, kagami, murasakibara, and akashi had collab drinks while midorima had a collab dessert

and then you have aokise both having collab entrées 😩💙💛

goes to show you can never tear these two apart 🥺/hj (and the food looks amazing too 😭)

also bonus:

kise’s is onion gratin style carbonara pasta while aomine’s is teriyaki hamburger steak with rice 🥺 i love how they took into account their canonical favorite food when thinking up the menus uwu 🥺 (also kuroko’s drink is, unsurprisingly, a vanilla shake XDDDDD)

kise: mature sunflowers always face the east, don’t they? they seem like they’re always waiting for the arrival of the morning sun, even in the dead of night... i think there’s just something really beautiful about how their belief that the sun will rise again never wavers.

i know we tend to liken kise to the sun (?) bUT AOMINECCHI IS TOTALLY KISE’S SUN NO ONE CAN CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE — and of course kise isn’t really just a sunflower passively waiting for the day when aominecchi would play basketball with a genuine smile again, he wants to beat aominecchi and rekindle that passion aomine used to harbor for basketball so bad — it’s never been explicitly stated but gdi you can’t tell me he doesn’t miss the old aominecchi, who would play one-on-one with him late into the night, as much as kurokocchi and momocchi does 😭

but in the end kagakuro beat him to it so welpppp
