Heres the project that I’ve been working on for a few months, I didnt get to animate the characters as much as I had hoped, but what did come out was a little better than I expected. I practiced different tricks from a few sources like Gumby, Pingu, and The Pinchcliffe Grand Prix. Next cartoon will have more actual claymation over moving toys about.

This is another unused segment, this one using Pingu inspired “replacimation”, unfortunately I didnt use great lighting for it.

This was a short animation for a current project that I ended up not using, the cars are a bit too big and a bit out of scale with the background characters. The Lancia is an Italian made scale replica that I’ve since cleaned up, the Nissan a RadioShack RC that no longer works, and the Porsh a metal made in China thing.

This is an update to my previous picture of Nils Dondolano, I gave the jacket/undershirt a more realistic texture among a number of other changes. Nils runs a food stand that specializes in “Steamed Krill” that he catches himself on his time off.

I drew this character up for an RP, his names Nils after Nils Olav. His design is one of my few designs where I simply stuck to the actual animal, thus a black beak, smaller eyes on the side, and a neck. He wouldnt fit in with the local Christmas decor!

The old Batzil model, and his clown shoes, this model was technically closer to his drawn design but it ate up much more clay, fell over easier without the huge shoes, and looked more like a crude play doh creation. Also, Pingu stepped into this shot.

Old Drafnir with temporary paper wings, back then he was much more blocky and hard to work with, the head was too big and heavy. To the left is a smaller prototype with a newer head on it. To the right is just an experimental penguin model using a foam core, a technique that I use much more frequently now.

Batzil and Drafnir in clay, Batzil was one of my earlier models that I decided to re build while Drafnir is the result of me putting a lot of work into one design, and many re builds.

My final Chuck Jones attempts, with the bottom being perhaps the closest attempt (the pig nose I kept drawing on Batzil ruins it). In the above shot, I drew Dart as a sparrow so his colors are completely different. Thanks to Chuck I learned a bit about how to draw mouths, cheeks, and body structure.

Another Chuck Jones-ish drawing that I did for a an art challenge, I feel that this attempt came closer than my previous one. With a few tweaks to Dart and Arrow I can probably stick with the designs as seen here.

A crow made of clay, this is one of my earlier sculptures that has since been remade. The bottom tail feather acts as a third leg as at the time I wasnt too good at weight balancing. The “beak” is from a questionably legal bottle rocket that landed in the yard.

Probably one of my better Batzil drawings, I drew this for an RP with my friends. A lot of the texture was done simply through various eraser-based tricks. His design draws upon Suihō Tagawas Norakuro, and a bit of Naoki Urasawas Billy Bat. The Moon Crescent and Rising Sun logos represent his background.

This is my shot at drawing akin to ancient Japanese artists, I like the end results myself even if the foreground trees a bit odd.

Just as an experiment I decided to sculpt “Prickle” from Gumby, the only really tricky bits were was the spikes in the back, both them and the base for the eye were cut from the kind of stiff paper material used behind comic books.
