Dear Tumblr Staff,

I don’t totally blame you for wanting to hide adult oriented material due to regulations on apps and all that. But at a certain point, it should be obvious that your massive losses are on your own stupid choices.

If Tumblr is supposed to be a place of expression, stop defaulting avatars just because the blog isn’t “all audiences”. I haven’t seen any of the more adult blogs with an avatar that’s not the default and it’s insulting. It means that we aren’t allowed to express ourselves despite what you’ve said.

Hide the adult content behind filters, settings and all that if you want. But don’t go out of your way to censor those who still want to use your platform for imagery and expression that is still very much within your guidelines for what is and is not acceptable.

Yeah, loss of avatar is pretty minimal compared to the rest. But it’s a sign that you’re going out of your way to be hypocrites. I don’t feel like I can express myself here any more and that extra bit of censorship just screams “we are not what we say we are”.

Was 1 billion dollars in value lost not enough? Are you trying to go completely broke? Because if either of those are true you should say it and mercy kill your platform,

Can we just agree there are some Toxic individuals in our shipping community. It doesn’t matter who has more or less. The more you deny that your ship has some toxicity in it, the more damage you are doing to your ship and the FNDM as a whole. The best way to fix it is to accept you’ve got some bad apples, instead of thinking your ship and community is the “purest of heart” and all that shit. Trust me, I’ve seen a lot of post from ALL SIDES that shows the worst of some of the shippers and their ships
