Welcome to my life. I’m on the USC men’s tennis team and have been playing tennis my entire life. Both my parents played professional tennis and started me at our local park first day out of the womb. Sports in general are a massive part of my life. I love playing basketball and golf. I played in a CYO basketball league in high school and played golf every Tuesday with my grandfather before coming to USC. I’m from San Francisco, but most of my family lives in Los Angeles. I love to travel and gain experience through seeing new places around the world. I have been really fortunate to have traveled all over the United States because of my tennis. My favorite hobby is playing video games. I play all games from Smash Bros to Skyrim. I’m a really passionate and energetic person that loves to move so if that sounds like you say hi.

The Internet
We have covered numerous topics throughout this semester, many of which I use everyday, but have no idea how they work. The biggest one being the internet. I use the internet every day, from doing school work, to just seeing what the elephant is for the day. It is the single best invention we have ever created and I knew almost nothing about its origin, or many of its functions until this class. The internet started as a research project that was funded by the Advanced Research Projects Agency, later known as DARPA. 1957 is where it began when the USSR launched Sputnik. Sputnik was the first artificial satellite to be put into Earth’s orbit. Later in 1969 ARPANET was commissioned by the Department of Defense, and the first communication was attempted. This is where the Internet started to pick up speed and soon after in 1973 we had our first overseas connection. However later in the 2000s is when we developed high speed internet. The internet is one of the most complicated systems that we developed in less than a century. Our world is moving at such a rapid pace of invention and innovation who knows what the next “internet” will be.
I believe the Internet is the single most important invention of our lives. It provides an endless supply of knowledge and storage of what we have already discovered so we don’t lose it. It allows us to make calculations and predictions about things that the human brain simply cant do on its own. The scientific and research progress we have made would never have been possible without the Internet. Inventions and innovations like the new rocket ships and cars would never have been possible without the internet. It also allows us to communicate around the world and collaborate with millions of people to achieve our goals. It is the gateway to everything.
