The final verdict on Under The Dome

Okay so exactly what I feared would happen, happened. Great pilot does not guarantee a great show. After a promising start it didn’t even take 2 episodes until UTD became unwatchable. Dumb characters doing dumb things. Did nobody think it would be a good idea to develop intriguing characters like Lost did for example? Oh well, not my problem anymore. I stopped watching after 3 episodes. I just think it's funny how such a strong pilot could end in a disaster like that.

My take on Under The Dome

At first glance Under The Dome is as impressive a TV pilot as there has been since Lost. Of course it is yet to be seen if the show can keep the quality up. There's been a lot of mystery pilots in recent years that gradually faded into obscurity after a strong start. I hope this is not the case here. It is an intriguing story, quality actors and so far top notch special effects. If the show can continue the strong start the sky is the limit and in this case it REALLY is.

My take on Edward Snowden

Edward Snowden is a traitor. Let me get this out of the way right off the bat. There’s a million things the government does but won’t tell you, that probably violate your privacy but ultimately keep you safe. So what if the NSA knows how often you call the pizza guy? Nobody cares. I certainly don’t. What I do care about is being blown up in a shopping mall because terrorists roam free protected by our right of privacy. Snowden thought it was necessary to tell everyone the NSA was monitoring phone calls. Why? What good does that do? Did anyone really believe 911 didn’t happen again because terrorists took a break? Sometimes the government needs to send a drone to take a bad guy out, and sometimes they need to listen in on a phone call and have a bus boy with a silencer take care of things. If you fail to realize this is necessary in today’s world to stay safe, you’re living in a dream world.
