what i like about mycroft in the final problem is that what we see in that culmination is not development, he hasn't been provided with a catalyst for that, but rather a simple exposé. we see him laid bare for dissection. he does not get to become someone different, we are just given the privilege of all the knowledge we need to fully understand the extent of who he is and everything about how he got there. he's still the same rotten man in denial of his own feelings by the end of the episode but we, as the audience, feel our perception of him shifted simply by the information we have been allowed in more explicit terms than ever. (Wipes vomit off my nose)
