A shot of the Wanaka tree during my New Zealand trip and decided to enhance it through photoshop. I also hope to create something inspired by this wonderful place shortly, perhaps a watercolour painting?

Started to try and take my digital version of ‘Skinful’ a little further by using photo altering apps and websites. This one I used ‘photomosh’ and by randomly selecting these settings to try and inspire me to what I can do or alter to create different variations of the same work. I found this very interesting to create and watch. Hope you do too ahahha

The final outcome of the digitalised version of ‘Skinful’. Definitely came out different to the original version but I’m happy with this version. It definitely shows my learning progress using a digital medium and it’s outcomes that come with. It isn’t exactly the same as the original in terms of structural elements but it’s as if I created an alternate version which I don’t mind either. As I tried my hardest not to refer back to the original and draw out of memory as somewhat of a test to myself ahahaha

Illustration inspiration, love the amount of detail is put in the line work that creates the work as a whole.

I pitched the idea of ‘Skinful’ from brainstorming around the idea of identity. More specifically how we let our skin identify others and ourselves and it’s experiences that come along with.
I started with simple sketches and different variations to further develop the idea. The first photo was the very first sketch, where I let my myself play with organic and structured lines and patterns to fill the negative space.
In the second image, is where I definitely started to have a vision in mind to add and refine the previous idea. Through the use of more structured and less organic lines in the ‘frame’ and adding a wavy line pattern in the negative spaces.
The pattern was inspired from some of Ernesto Caivano’s illustrations using line as a main part to create his works.
