Shoes
I asked a question of my running society a few days back, always get good advice and I certainly was looking for some. I wanted to know if people use different running shoes for different distances. i.e. 5K vs Half Marathon. I got a lot of great responses and it started me thinking about what I was wearing. Well later that day I was looking through race picts to record my bib numbers for races I had run and started looking at my shoes and how I performed, but more importantly how I felt after. (did my feet hurt, did I feel an injury of sorts) Well as it turns out this summer has been rough, I have been feeling pretty dinged up and my legs have felt dead. I assumed it was the heat, which I am sure played a role but I noticed something...May/June I switched the brand of shoes I was wearing...��Wait could it be that simple??” Well the question I ask the group stemmed from my feet starting to hurt around mile 6 of a half I had ran on Sunday and quite frankly the worst time I have run so far for a half. I thought back to the 1st half I ran and then looked at the shoes I wore...Anyway the experiment has started. Monday after the question and the find I switched back to other shoes and although its only been 2 days, my legs and feet feel better and my pace is better.
