If you don’t want to know what this is for, don’t read below. Trust your instincts.

I’m thinking about Shimmer Partner— I wanted Scar and Partner to be a toxic parallel to Ekko and Jinx, but I worry it’s too much of a connection if Partner was also some mentally ill, traumatised person who does shimmer.

In the @scarcane au Partner’s mentality is "I need you" (don’t know if I established that earlier, but I’m vetoing anything said otherwise and replacing it with this.) Partner is weak. They need a soldier, they need a bodyguard, they need a companion.

Obviously, in the au Therapist is from, things are not the same. Therapist has been in support of shimmer and is completely okay with using it, so I’m debating about having them play around with shimmer a bit. (Shimmer overdose?? 👀) Therapist’s mentality is "You need me". Which is why they get very annoyed when he doesn’t see reason to stay around.

Anyways. Blue is Partner’s natural eye colour, dark royal blue for anyone who cares about that. Thanks for reading this far! Feel free to ask questions if you’re curious.

Scar and Partner Scarchive #11

"Your mind is playing tricks on you again."

Cw; mentions of a gun, unintentional manipulation, taking advantage of false memories.

With how often Scar and Partner came up to those rooftops— You would’ve thought they owned that lookout spot by now. But alas, when they had come to sit down, they noticed two young girls sitting and talking instead. Neither of them wanting to bother the girls and turning around to instead head back to the community.

Partner: "We got a good haul today, m’ proud of us."

They proudly puffed the collar up on their new jacket, turning and noticing Scar seemingly out of it… again. Partner sighs, slowing their walk to a dawdle as compared to their confident and arrogant stride.

Partner: "Alright, dear… Penny for your thoughts?"

Partner spoke in a semi-teasing manner, playfully tapping on Scar’s forehead as if to ask if anyone was home. Scar flinched at the contact, his eyes widening and breath hitching… though, ultimately he allowed for Partner to hang off him, wrapping their arms around his neck loosely and forcing the both of them to stop walking.

The streets were quiet, awfully quiet. If Scar focused enough then he’d probably be able to hear some light chatter from one of the many bar’s open. Kids nowadays were always causing trouble amongst the streets of Zaun, just yesterday Partner had seen two kids flip off a couple of enforcers.

Scar: "Did… you…?"

Scar’s voice trailed off, looking to his side— Away from Partner. He usually wasn’t supposed to, but… This had been bugging him for so long now. His brain was such a mess, always cluttered and made him want to throw up whenever he tried to remember something like this.

Scar: "Did you shoot me?"

Partner blinked, pulling away— Which caused Scar to turn and look at them, a lot more properly now. The way Partner’s lip’s were parted, the wide-eyed expression, the way it took Partner a second longer than usual to fall into their usual charismatic and charming way.

Scar: "I… I think you did? I don’t… remember. It’s hard— It doesn’t feel real."

Any fear or shock that was on Partner’s face was quickly washed away with a tilt of her head and a charming smile. Janna above, Scar was going to marry them.

Partner: "Your mind is playing tricks on you again, My Dear."

Partner giggled. Scar didn’t find it very amusing. Partner took notice of this, slipping their arms away from his neck and instead moving to feel up his arm. His eyes widened at the sudden PDA, but he really didn’t think he should’ve been surprised. Partner had done much worse stuff in public before.

Partner wasn’t sure what he was expecting, his mind wandering back to that night, the night where he and Partner had fought and—

Ah—

Scar winced, instinctively pulling away, which caused Partner to dig their nails into Scar’s forearm. He forced himself to stay still whilst Partner pressed harder against his bandaged arm…

Ah.

Partner: "I did."

He said almost proudly, like it were an achievement to shoot your partner after some petty argument— Was it not? No. No? Huh. Scar didn’t… No. No, he knew it wasn’t okay. But had Partner shot him on purpose? He didn’t remember. He knew he had been injured… but what from?

Scar: "I don’t…"

Scar sighed, tilting his head back and looking up at the night sky. He should’ve remembered that. Why had Partner shot him? Probably for that fight. He deserved it— No… People don’t just shoot loved ones because they’re angry. Partner could change, it’s okay. It’s okay.

Partner: "Shhhh…"

Partner cupped Scar’s cheek, moving closer and forcing him to look back at them.

Partner: "Don’t worry about that, now… I’m sorry, yeah? I wasn’t… in my head at the time. Y’know?"

Partner gave a sheepish smile, like they didn’t really want to talk about it here— Scar understood. Partner and him had been through a lot, they both had issues and occasionally resulted in violent tendencies… Yeah. It was all an accident. They would both work on it. Together.

Scar: "Hm."

Scar moved to wrap an arm around Partner’s lower back, pulling Partner against him. Partner giggled at the contact, smiling a toothy grin. Each one of their perfect, pearly whites gleaming in the light of the moon. It was almost as beautiful as Partner’s energy.

Scar: "Yeah… Okay. I get it."

He murmured softly, Partner and him making intimate eye contact before finally meeting for a gentle kiss. The feeling of the gun Partner had under the belt of their pants pressing against Scar’s inner thigh. This was love. And this was addicting.
