calculating the equation of dazais ass

hi everyone i calculated the equation of dazai’s ass in this iconic picture 

let’s do this *cracks knuckles* today we have a negative parabola instead of a linear slope so i will be calculating the equation of the line that splits the axis of symmetry of dazais ass, or the VERTEX. also can be called a maximum since we’re looking at the y values of dazais ass. confusing math terms right? lemme explain visually. i’m going to be calculating the equation of his ass using this line.HOLD ON JACK you might be saying, what the fuck, that’s literally just a y= value such as y=3 since this is just a normal parabola, of course the tangent will be a straight line. the tangent equation of a parabola at the vertex is just y=4 for this example below.BUT LISTEN. since this is a parabola (y = ax2 + bx + c) let’s look at the info we need to calculate here.to get to this equation we’ll be using the equation y =a(x−h)2+k where (h, k)  is our vertex. i need to calculate the vertex of dazais ass in order to calculate the equation of his ass overall. for simplicity’s sake, i’m going to say that dazai’s ass vertex is located on the y-axis, putting our x value at 0. the question is what value of y! so how far up is dazais ass? let’s look at the scenery, or, specifically, the couch

let’s say this is our typical couch. dazai’s ass reaches about halfway up the top cushions. with some simple arithmetic, we find that 83cm (the total height of the couch) minus 45cm (the height from the floor to the top of the seat cushion) is 38cm. divide that by two and we’ve got dazai’s ass having a height of approximately 19cm, putting our y-value for the vertex at 19cm, therefore making our vertex (0, 19). now, what about the x-intercepts? his ass takes up approximately 2/3 of a couch cushion. but wait!~ there’s two cushions in this diagram! it’s okay we got this. the length of the couch (228cm) minus the arm rests (48cm in total) = 180cm, WHICH IS DIVISBLE BY 3! yay our job just got so much easier! one cushion, then, is approximately 60cm. since dazai’s ass takes up about 2/3 of the cushion, we can put the length from the vertex to the x-intercept to be about 40cm. therefore, we have two x-intercepts; one at x=-40, and one at x-40.so our equation becomes y= a (x-40)(x+40). how do we find a? well, we have that the vertex is (0, 19). so let’s keep going.     we can set y= 19.19 = a (0-40) (0+40)19 = a (-40) (40)19=  -1600a-19/1600 = a the equation of dazai’s ass is therefore

y= -19/1600 (x-40) (x+40)
