BIOGRAPHY

When Ruaidhri recalled his childhood, he always thought about it as unremarkable, and although that may have sounded as a bad thing, he preferred it over something that could be far worse. He was born into a working family in the royal city of Egrain, to two loving parents, an alpha mother and an omega father. The young boy wasn’t the oldest of his family but he also wasn’t the youngest either, but after a while, it didn’t seem to matter with so many children running around. They all worked and helped his parents tend to the fields they owned, even the youngest who usually got distracted by the butterflies that fluttered by, but Ruaidhri had an affinity of taking care of the animals they had, they didn't own many like other ranches, but it was enough for the family. It was tough always having to be working but he always thought things could be worse, besides it gave him something to do and it readied him for whatever life had to throw his way.

Things began to become more unusual when he finally presented. It was two months after his nineteenth birthday that his biological clock struck twelve and it finally revealed that he would be an omega. When his family found out about the news, everyone was surprised with how things went considering how often they found Ruaidhri flirting with omegas. They were expecting that to change now that he was one but it only continued, maybe even becoming more common. And it wasn’t because the omega was actively against other alphas, something didn’t allow him to be innately attracted to them, especially when he could smell the rut off of them, it almost repulsed him. Not like it mattered to him, because the one that caught his eyes was another omega. Ruaidhri took his shot, he went up to the other man and began flirting with him, usually by now, the stranger would reject his advances and made sure that he knew that they were only after alphas. But as the omega was ready for that familiar sting to hit him, instead he was met with a pleasant laugh and a sweet smile. And like that, this man won his heart. He spent the whole night praising the other, just as he was praising him, before ending it with a passionate coupling.

After such a night, Ruaidhri expected the other omega to pretend like nothing happened, but instead, he was laying on his chest, sleeping soundly. With such an image, the ranch hand fell in love and was ready to do anything possible to keep the other around. He would take him out and offer him presents until the two were finally living together. But life wasn’t easy after this happened. They both received a lot of hate from the other villagers, both vocal and physical. It would be a good day if all they did was avert their eyes, but others enjoyed expressing their discontent of two omegas together and would even go as far as putting their hands on them. It would always lead to a lot of fights, were Ruaidhri fought others on his own since he didn’t want anyone to lay their hands on his partner. And although he was left a bloody mess, he would smile to his lover, saying it was always worth protecting him. But the other omega thought it being too much of a brunt for Ruaidhri to take that they finally discussed about how they should separate. The pain he experienced when he heard those words was far worse than any strike he has ever felt, but he knew that it would keep his lover safe even if he didn’t get to be with him anymore. All he wanted from his partner was to promise him that he would find an alpha that is capable of treating him just as well as he did. After that, they went their separate ways.

Ruaidhri knew his previous partner wouldn’t have a hard time finding someone else, he was beautiful in and out, anyone he spends time with should feel lucky. But he didn’t feel like he would fare well in the city anymore, so he searched around for answers until he heard of a supposed village. The omega didn’t have much left, but when he heard of some other wolves trying to find this ‘Athos’, he joined the caravan and embarked on this journey. He didn’t expect much from this tale, he was just happy that he was able to leave since he knew his heart couldn’t bear seeing his other half with someone else.

Days has passed, and it feels like they have made no progress. This began to appear bleak when he saw a mountainous region approaching until he figured out that this village was protected by the titans. He took a step in this strange new world before he was met by the three pack leaders who overlooked this haven. They were asking him several questions, all which Ruaidhri answered truthfully since he felt no need to hide who he was here. After much deliberation, it seemed like was sworn into the Sabre pack, where he would be working as a Ranch Hand.

Surprisingly, it didn’t take much time for the omega to adjust to his new home, he found himself adjusting well to Athos, happy to cooperate and help the wealth of the camp. Even being a little different to the common omega role, he wasn’t met with aggressive attacks that he experienced in the royal city, that it gave him the bright idea of building a home for him and his lover. It took some convincing, but he asked the pack leaders for permission to build a home for him and his partner and to allow him with the tradesmen to retrieve him and bring him here. After he was allowed to, Ruaidhri began working on his project excited for the day that he can return to Egrain and to escape together with his true love, hand in hand.

It was the fateful day, the tradesmen were leaving and Ruaidhri was allowed to go with them. It took some time for them to finally reach their destination, but he was excited to see the place he hated so much. He departed from the group and went on his own, searching for the other omega, something he believed would have taken so much effort, but it was an arguably easy thing to do now that he learned his lover was now married to the son of one of the nobles. Regardless, that wasn’t going to stop, Ruaidhri. It was late at night when he took the opportunity to go to Solomon’s home, doing his best to stay away from anyone’s gaze. He stood at the door, looking at it plainly, his heart beating so loudly until he finally swallowed any fears he had and knocked on the door. No one answered, not even the husband, and just as he was ready to knock again he saw the familiar face once more. With no time wasted, he was ushered inside where immediately pleaded to him to run away with him. To a place far from here and one where they could be happy together. His heart was beating much harder now and faster, afraid of what the other would say but when he saw the other nod and cry tears of joy, Ruaidhri lept from the floor and lifted the other in the other, kissing him like no time had passed. He should have left then, told him that he would find him by the gates in the next morning, but Ruaidhri couldn’t hold back, instead he continued kissing the other and made love with him once more, ignoring that the bed they laid on belonged to someone else. It was hard to pull away from him, but managed to leave the warm embrace before telling him where to meet. It was finally happening.

Ruaidhri retreated from Solomon’s home and to his old family home, where he was taken in with care. He couldn’t sleep however, as he was just waiting for the sun to rise so he could escape from this city. But when he went to the gates, the omega didn’t find his lover there. The tradesmen were getting restless but he asked them to wait before he ran to his home, instead of finding the grand stead, he was met with burnt rubble and ash everywhere. The ranch hand didn’t have to ask what happened before a gossipy neighbor began to explain to him that the mate was found dead by the hands of his husband. With that, he returned to his group and began his trek back to Athos, far worse than he ever could be.
